What kind of grease are y'all using for the driveline? I'm about to go to AutoZone and get some since I know the dealer probably didn't do it and now the nearest dealer to my new house is 80 miles away.

I know this is a little older thread but I just picked up this Lucas oil stuff from Walmart. NLGI #2 rated. Did all my 5 zerks in the driveline for the first time.
I had to scrape off the black paint to reveal the zerk hole.

Man, I forgot I made this thread. I eventually got some Mobil 1 synthetic mainly because it was the only synthetic stuff they had in stock and because ColoradoTJ recommended it. Even though the dealer told me they greased my driveline when they changed the oil, I noticed all the zerks were still covered with black paint. Now I refuse to go to the dealership for maintenance, even if it is free for the first two years.

Just to put your mind to ease, we use Mobil 1 grease on all of our multi-million dollar equipment at work. Good stuff with minimal bearing issues for a 24/7 operation.

Exactly what happened to me and that's why I have never been back.

I couldn't imagine why they wouldn't grease the u-joints while the oil is draining. Truck is up in the air anyways. Would only take a few minutes. One of the easiest ways to tell if a joint is going bad. All the bearing caps gotta purge grease. It's better than a broken u-joint and the damage that can happen from a driveshaft just whipping around

It's extra effort and he probably figured I would never check. If he wanted to be slick about it, all he would have to do is scrape the paint from the zerks.

Scraping the paint from the zerk fitting takes more effort than hmgreqsing them. I do hate scraping the paint from the zerk fittings. I use a small pick the break off the paint and peel the rest off by hand
