    I had my diff oil changed two weeks ago at 85K miles. I didn't get to see it or smell it, but the guy doing the work said it was "extremely dirty". Had the transfer case oil changed too.

    I wonder what the drain plug looked like. It is magnetic and will collect shavings and sludge.

    This is what mine looked at around 153K. The dealer had done it previously at 75Kish.

    I read a tip on here to put a jack under the rear drivers side when draining the rear diff, fluid. Since the drain is off-set on the pumpkin to the passenger side, raising the drivers side may let a bit more fluid out. Then lower it down before filling. Whoever posted that, . . . gracias.

    Yeah, if you hate your truck. Jk I don't know crap about 2018s.

    Also remove the diff fill plug before the drain plug otherwise you'll have a hard time if the fill plug is seized.

    Only once you get the majority out, this helps get a bit more of the last bit caught in the very bottom.
