I would stick those jack stands in the bed to be safe. And bring extra undies. Steal your brothers if you don't have any.

Just going to document my accomplishments for each day I actually accomplish something, however small.
    - Dropped truck off at the dealer for their evaluation, better to know than not know, I'm sure I'm going to face some real bills b/c I don't have time or expertise or space to wrench it all myself.
    - Ordered wipers and air filter b/c for sure I need to do those. Oil was just done, one thing I don't have to worry about. Wheels and tires will get bought once escrow closes on 8/17 (sell house buy old truck, that's what Suzie Orman would do, right?) Then larger brakes. Stopping power never impressed and I'd like to feel confident loaning this thing out. Might need to worry about MC if I get that far though but I can at least start with fresh 17's and brand new tires.
    - Minor research on various silly things like floor mats and stereos

    Thoughts at this point.

    - Truck smells funky, might be nice to ditch the seats and carpet but honestly the seat upholstery isn't that bad. I do think vinyl on the floor would make me happy though. Trying to give myself plenty of time with each decision to avoid overspending like a fool.
    - Rubber mat is now 20 years old and left my white bike handlebar tape smudged. I wonder if I should replace it. Probably needs a massive cleaning. I'd feel bad throwing out 8x4 of rubber mat
    - Truck bed looks awesome minus dog hair and dirt. Linex went on a few months after purchase, really held up well.
    - Shell does not latch well at all so truck bed security is mostly a farce for now
    - Clearly needs electrical TLC, good thing I enjoy all that stuff, also good that there isn't enough space to make much of anything truly awesome
    - Still a tiny bit up in the air on keeping the shell but probably close to 75% on that, it truly is so useful for a RC. The rails already had holes in them from the first shell I had on it but the current shell is clamped on. I wonder if I would be happier switching to bolts and ditching the clamps, would free up a little interior space for dog mayhem. The flip side is, 8' of open bed is a ton of space, can fit anything on a moments notice, throw it in and go. Final counterpoint to that is stuff flying out on the freeway is never fun and this leer shell is nicer than the ARE I used to have since windoors and stuff, just needs a bit of sticker removal and some mechanical work with latches and electrical with lighting
    - I think I would really like some seat covers. Clazzios would be ideal but no dice there. Haven't checked katzkin for 1st gen support, I assume no dice as well. Seat heaters and leather, that would be rolling in style. The factory stuff is fine and actually the seats are the cleanest part of the truck but
    - Need to pull the trigger on floor mats and tailgate handle in the near future. Maybe some soft open tailgate rods too? I think cables as well, they look toast.
    - Expecting to drop $5k on mechanical stuff off the bat, timing belt, water pump, maybe some ball joints, suspension. That doesn't leave a ton of room for paint if I am that foolish as I'd be 8k in by then. I'll try to keep it under control I guess.

Paint will be the last thing to think about.

13WL caliper upgrade or the 14WA Lexus one? If the former, I've got some calipers I'm looking to part with. Don't think MC is necessary for that but if you're doing 14WAs or rear disc conversion you'll have to upgrade the MC.

    Try Ozium. :rasta:

Can you move the catch plate? Sometimes my shell doesn't latch or pops open easy and I have to move the catch plate by the tailgate back

Yeah, it's more like a divot out of one side so perhaps not so much a move as it is replacement of that portion or machine another bracket or something, not super big of a deal.

I don't even know the difference yet on caliper upgrades, is 14 much better than 13? I believe my rears are the more pressing problem, though unloaded and not towing they probably don't matter all that much.

I thought about sticking the jackstands between the seats like I did the rest of the kit, but when I got to work I remedied errythang. If it slides round too much I'll stick em in my board

13WE, 13WL, 14WA are the identifying numbers cast onto the calipers. Your truck likely has 13WE calipers which have a slightly smaller pad surface area than the 13WLs.

Yours should have a number like this

The 14WAs use a larger rotor than the 13WE/13WLs. I can't do this upgrade, but there is a ton of good info on that upgrade here. https://www.tundras.com/threads/2000-2006-tundra-big-brake-upgrade-kit-14wa-calipers.61231/ This upgrade requires 17" wheels.

As for your rears, if your drums and shoes are still good, they might need to be adjusted. Some good info on doing that here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/adjusting-rear-drums.62519/

If you need a pair of rear drums I have a set you can have for cheap since I converted to rear disc brakes.
