If it works fine when the actuator is off the TC then I doubt that the micro switch is the issue.

I am curious to hear what Cruzer’s paint trick showed. Did it hit the trigger?

So that just proves that the actuator is not working properly when it’s installed on the TC. If there are no marks on the switch then it was not able to rotate far enough, although it is able to do so off the the TC.

So there’s only 3 possible outcomes:
1: actuator is not installed correctly
2: something in the TC is not positioned correctly
3: actuator is bad and needs to be replaced

    I know you’ve tried addressing #1 & #2, so that leaves #3 to try.

I guess that’s what it has come to. Where can I buy only the 4hi actuator, without the rest of the assembly.

I tried looking online but haven’t found one yet. Best bet is to go to your local dealership and ask them. Make sure to bring the part. If it’s expensive, just get the part number and continue the search online. Could probably find one at a wrecker for cheap.

You can get the whole actuator from rockauto but it is around $475. I did not look around to see if anyone sold the 4hi and 4lo separately.

UPDATE: I bought the actuator, installed the 4hi actuator, the problem remained the same. Currently looking for a mechanic that is going to do more tests than just to replace the whole actuator assembly.

Hello. I know this was last year but I’m wondering if you ever figured out the issue my 07 tundra is doing the exact same thing and I have a brand new front add actuator installed.
