[FIXED] HELP Front Shock/UCA

    I swapped out my front 5100 for 6112 and my UCA for SPC arms. Now I cant push the arm in far enough to pull the uca down.

    It looks like the cv axle u joint has been pulled apart by the way that boots looks but I’m no expert?

    I know when i did my suspension up front i disconnected my sway bar links it’s a 19mm thru bolt i believe

    that gave me enough room to wedge it in there

    It’s definitely the cv axle not going back in all the way. Anyone know if it will go back in.

    Its “possible” to get “lucky” and line the internal cups and balls up correctly

    but if not then new cv axle required

    Don’t feel too bad,I’ve done the same thing before with front wheel drive vehicles before I realized my error

    Keep your chin up and let it be a learning and bonding moment with your truck! Maybe you’ll get lucky and be able to like it all up and get it back in place!

    Here’s an idea of what the guts look like
    NOT vehicle specific
    Just a quick web snapshot for reference and to jump start your brain

    Here’s a thought….loosen the metal retaining bands….if not then cut them off??…then slide the sleeve back towards the wheel to expose the guts

    Then see if you can fix it by aligning everything

    You can replace the bands maybe with screw clamps or reuse the original by RE crimping it

    hopefully somebody else will chime in

    You won't find a stronger axle, typically, then OEM...you can sacrifice the boot and put a new one on...repack with grease, than clamp...it is annoying and I've done this myself too...but I got lucky and was able to pop it back in...

    Kinda looks like you might want some bump stop extensions on your rig so those new shocks don't bottom out and bend or break.
