I haven’t been here in a while and thought I’d throw out a couple of questions. I installed a trans cooler about a month ago. So far so good. About two weeks ago I had a Toyota dealership do a total trans flush replacing the WS fluid with AMSOIL atf at 13k miles. My ‘21 Tundra does not have a trans cooler temp gauge and was interested in knowing what my Tundra brothers and sisters out there might be using to read trans temps during use.

Secondly, is it normal for the mpg readout on the console to zero itself out after every fill up?

Lastly, anybody heard of the eco tune put out by those guys over in I think Ireland and if so is it even worth considering for my truck. My opinion is any factory ECU could be tweaked to run better. I’m not looking to boost the hp and torque astronomically just get the ECU operating as efficiently as could be.

    Thanks!

Nothing at all against scangauge, but for less money to measure trans temps, I bought an inexpensive OBD reader ($21) and downloaded the Torque app ($5).

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS

There are other OBD readers and apps, too. Bluetooth, and only gets used when I want trans temps displayed, which is less often now that the trans cooler has proved its meddle. I have the app on an old phone that lives in my rig just for this purpose, though initially I was using Torque through my regular phone.

TorquePro, monitor trans pan and converter temps and a ton of other metrics. Just pull up app on your phone and set it in the center console.

Scan guage 2 here pretty convenient and no need to fiddle with the phone.

After the initial setup, fiddling with the phone only requires opening the app.

Scan gauge website compatibility chart lists 2020 vehicles as “unknown”.
I’ve got a 2021 Tundra as do you. I presume you are using it in your ‘21 Tundra while driving and it works fine?

Correct, but I don't do much with it, only monitor transmission oil temp. Reset CEL sometimes cuz my locking gas cap triggers the emissions sometimes.
