Valhalla’s Shield theft deterrent/skid plates info and ordering post

I don't see any options for 5/8" or 3/4", however.

 

I wanted to post my recent purchase experience with the Valhalla Cat Shield, and specifically, Tyler’s advocacy for his customer, and Tyler’s unwavering commitment to his customer(s) complete satisfaction.

I can say without equivocation that, from the point of view of customer service, this has been the best on-line purchasing experience I’ve ever been a part of. My powder coated 3/16” steel plate got lost by FedEx. It took several days of back and forth negotiations with FedEx by both the seller (Tyler) and the buyer (me) to finally get FedEx to pay for the plate which they lost it. FedEx sent messages every day, for 8 days in a row, that “… your package has been loaded onto the truck, and is out for delivery…”. I would get these messages daily, around 5:00-6:00 am. Subsequently, later that same day, I would get another messaged that “…there has been a problem with the delivery of your package, your package will be delivered tomorrow…”. Then the process would start all over again.
Tyler was tenacious with FedEx. He got the insurance to pay for the plate they lost, then before the ink was dry on the check FedEx cut him for the lost plate, he had sent me another tracking number for the replacement plate. I installed the plate this morning, and am resting easier knowing that if a thief does slide under my truck to do the dirty deed, he’s going to have a heck of a time getting to my Cats.
Here is a photo of my installed plate. Probably like a lot of guys, I balanced the plate on a 5 gallon bucket (truck is lifted, so you may have to find a different support) slid the bucket and plate into place under the truck’s mounting holes, and bolted right into place on the truck frame.

 

Tyler is absolutely a “my handshake and/or my word is better than any contract” kind of guy. He will work with you till you’re satisfied with your purchase. I can not say enough good things about how great this purchase experience has been.

Yeah, I saw that! Looks like I’ll be ordering some security bolts, too.

 

Why not try and put a few bolt holes in a way where you could hook up a few master locks or cable bike lock to secure the plate

I'm not sure what news story my wife was reading at work but she basically told me I should get something to protect my cats. I showed her this thread and she said yes. Caught up on all 41 pages, exchanged a couple PMs with Tyler and now I am on the list for a full set of three red powder coated plates. The good news is that I will not have to justify to her getting an engine skid. The bad news is this was basically my wheel money...so that might get pushed back a bit.

 

@Classy63 - Thank you for getting my plates ready in time for my trip. Got them installed in about 2 hrs. Those rear RCI bolts really are a pain in the ass. I could only get the passenger side tightened. Had to call in 'professional' help for the drivers side.



Not too often I can make my wife get dirty, much less turn a wrench under a truck.

Hi Tyler, I JUST ordered bare aluminum plates 1/4in. Since I am not getting powder coated is the lead time still the same per your website? 4 weeks? Just wondering how realistic the website is. I can only imagine how busy you are now and I totally understand! Thanks!

 

I say about a month for everything, I am +or- a few weeks

 

Tyler’s stuff is worth the wait. You won’t be disappointed.

 

My full set should be ready soon. I am like a kid waiting for Christmas!
