I installed a Rough Country rear bumper. I like the bumper itself, but how it fits isn't that great. I hate how much space is showing between the rear bumper and tailgate. It looks awful. Has anyone come across anything like this? If so if anyone can point me in the right direction. I don't think this bumper can go up or in any further. Not sure if they sell anything to cover up the underneath part so that gap isn't so noticeable. Thanks!IMG_3784.jpgIMG_3785.jpgIMG_3787.jpg

Your best bet I think would be to maybe add an LED brake light bar or some black weather stripping. Someone may be able to chime in if you can push it up somehow.

Damn. That sucks. I was thinking of getting that bumper some day. Maybe take it off and paint the gap black so it's less noticeable. Otherwise, it looks good.

There are other threads with the same issue about this bumper. There was no solution posted.

The side profile looks off too. Hard to be sure from those angles though.

It looks great over-all, not a game changer; it's just more noticeable because you have a light colored truck.

    I wouldn't obsess about it.

Some people have made a filler piece. Others used a light kit. I think some painted it black [on the black truck, it's not noticeable.]

    Nice bumper, enjoy it!

I'm installing this bumper tomorrow and came up with a quick fix to fill the gap. I bought some garage door seal and bolts at Lowes. There are 4 threaded holes below the tailgate ( M6-1.00 ) that I used to mount it. I'm not sure if this will be a permanent fix. I'll probably decide once I see it with the bumper on.IMG_1070.jpg

    Stock for now...
I actually wish I had more room between my stock bumper and the tailgate lamp, I added a Putco Blade LED tailgate bar which is absolutely brilliant and much brighter than other cheaper Amazon junk bars. It has four separate LED strips (red tail and 2nd red brake, white reverse, and amber turn) that all work independently.

Installation is easy, you can attach it with either screws or 3M body adhesive tape, it would fit exactly in your gap and make you much more visible from behind. I’ve had people follow me into gas stations or restaurants and asked me where I got it and what brand it is, it’s that bright!

Good looking fix, only thing I would suggest is maybe cutting out acces to your spare tire lift

    Hey All.

Someone in my area is selling a used one of these. Was only on the truck for a few months. They sell new for $650.

What would you pay for a used one (in like-new condition)?

So I installed the garage door liner option mentioned in the previous posts. I like it. There are only 4 existing bolt holes so I used 4 self tappers with washers to further secure it. Looks better than before imo. The spare tire access slot isn't necessary for me as I do not have a tire there.

Same problem here. Just installed today. The front one looks absolutely amazing. The rear one has the same issue. Taking to a different shop Weds to have black vinyl wrap put on (mine is cement grey and I just don’t like the look at all)…. Will keep you posted
