I like to have wood. It assists in laying pipe.

My front door is a nightmare. In 12 years I had refinished it 3 times. It faces southwest and takes a beating in the OK sun. This time I declared war. No more stain and marine spar varnish.

    BeforeIMG_20210529_100400137.jpg

Stripped down and painted with 2 1/2 coats Sherwin Williams Emerald semi gloss latex urethane after two coats of primer.

This was a 4 day project. That detailed trim around the windows is a bitch to prepare. Super happy with the end result. This paint sets up like a hard plastic.

    IMG_20210604_200831564.jpg

This picture looks blue green but it's a dark gray. Trust me.

    Flux capacitor!
Your front door looks great! Good job. I had the same issue with my front door as you did. I used the SW Emerald rain refresh paint, it does an amazing job!

Thank you. Good to hear the SW is holding up. I'm tired of messing with this door when I could be fishing.

Continuation from 7039. We decided to check out the build today. We have some WALLS! Excuse the wet appearance, it is Washington after all. The tall walls are my RV garage extension, as I will be able to fit my Tundra finally in the Garage without folding the mirrors. This is the current progress, just framing but its starting to look like something livable. It did rain like crazy in this area yesterday. Some image distortion due to lens.

Check the build link in my signature.
I don’t know about you, but when we were building our house and saw the foundation poured, it seemed SO small. Then the walls go up and it’s like “WOW! Now it’s a house!”

Dog House / Run….99% done. Interior is done with the exception of foam board insulation on the roof. Exterior dog run is assembled. Dogs have fan and light in the kennel on smart plugs and I put a Wyze cam to monitor them. Have automation to turn fan on with temp outside and light comes on at sunset Will have an external cam to monitor that side of the house and them up shortly. Basically it’s “done” till winter when I’ll swap the fan for a heater and make sure the door opening is sealed up with some weatherstripping. Will probably add a big water bottle on the door that I can fill on the regular. What y’all think?

My wife almost lost her mind when she saw it poured and no walls yet. I actually had to go back to the house to get the 100' tape to prove to her it was what we wanted and even mapped out a couple rooms quick. Once the walls went up, she started saying the opposite that we may have gone too big . Its all good though, we're happy with it and it's just where we wanted

There is also a similar visual change when you go from just framing and getting the Sheetrock installed. The consensus is after the Sheetrock is done the interior looks bigger. My wife and the realtor gal we’re going on (discussing it) about it the other day. Some aspects of this house we have only seen the design on paper and not a finished real detail.

Thanks man, its come a long way from where it was when we bought the house! only have one little quarter round planter I need to plant and should be wrapped up.

Edit - Meant to add, looks very clean compared to the paint on the house which has now been moved up on the timeline because it looks even worse now!

It will be a pair sliding glass doors, they open at the center. 4 large panes: the 2 sliders in the middle and 2 fixed on the sides.

Was really looking forward to my next honey-do project. Got the material in for a large patio and garden wall setup when all the sudden I realized that I have a hernia. Now, 12 pallets sitting idle.
