2020 Sequoia TRD Pro Grill conversion

For those that have filled some of the gap with weatherstripping, is there a benefit other than hiding some of the gap?

I just did the grill conversion as well on my 2013 CM. Here are the before and after photos. Next comes wheels and tires, than headlights.


When pulling off old grill you will probably break the 2 end tabs, I guess they are called break away clips, also you may have some of the yellow tabs break. If so, here are the part numbers for those. The new grill comes with the tabs on them already for the 2nd Gen Tundras. I found it easier to attach the bump to the grill before attaching it to the vehicle, learned the hard way and ended up removing everything and breaking the end tabs on new bump. That's why I bought extra tabs to replace.

Will a 2013-2020 sequoia bumper cover fit onto the 2nd gen Tunrdas plug/play?

It should, its a 2nd gen. Just replaced my headlights as well.

 

yes, but you will also need the upper support bar. I think it was about $50.

now keep in mind I went from one piece tundra rock warrior to sequoia conversion.

it might be different going from tundra two piece to sequoia one piece.

 

Finally received both pieces via sparkparts. Very happy with the results.

Did you paint it? I don't see Silver Sky Metallic as an option.

 

Did you install it on the bumper or on the grille itself? My bumper is on the way.

heres a couple,

so it’s a give and take with the sequoia bumper. They have slightly different body lines so it doesn’t line up perfect with tundra bumpers. So my high clearance bumper by resz has slightly different lines. But it closes the gap with the grill nicely

So did you order the full sequoia bumper and than cut it, paint it etc...

 

Yeah. I found one with bottom damage on offer up for cheap. Cut and paint myself

Has anyone found a light bar that fills that gap nicely? I put some foam in there but it still bugs me...

 

It would have to be a modified mounting bar as the hood release comes right down in middle of it.

 

I really like the idea and look, but can’t do that gap or weather stripping. My OCD would keep me up all night. I am curious if a talented body shop could graft or fab the bottom to fit correctly.

 

Just go get a Sequoia bumper as that would fit and fill the gap.
