Lyndon B Johnson had a brick made of each of his visitors signatures when they visited his Texas ranch. Pretty cool you can see replicas if you tour his ranch. Outside San Antonio

The brick thing is pretty cool. I like the fact that you're preserving history.

I installed mine last week, took me about couple hours. Tranny Temp was going over 200 even when the truck was empty, and now it's around 160~170 degree in same condition. I wish it came with black color but still pretty satisfied

Nice! I also have the original kit. See temps as high as 209-213 towing 3000lbs through mountain passes (pushing it) but usually stays at 187-200 not towing. I can live with that cuz I was seeing 228 or higher unloaded normal highway driving before the kit. Not acceptable.

Amazing product at a great discount. If you tow, this is a no brainer! Thanks to @chasenicholas93 for developing a solid, complete, as close to factory as possible solution.

I can attest that it works as advertised.

I sprayed mine with radiator black (before install), it's a specialized thin paint and finicky about timing of 2nd coat but so far so good. I can still smell the paint cooking now and then lol. Honestly I don't think it jumps out at you on your truck as is..nice lookin rig! And since I see Nick is offering a sale, figured I'd bump the thread!

I can attest it works as advertised too. I installed a few weeks ago and still have not seen pan temps climb above 190. I have not towed yet but will this summer. I have the Setrab kit.

Install was a breeze. I worked slow, double checked everything, and it took me and my dad four hours and that included plenty of breaks for beer!

Installed the Setrab last weekend. I’m seeing temps in the 185 range on a 20 mile commute in the mountains. Just towed my TT, 3600 lbs. in a very hilly area in S4/Tow-Haul on, 50-60 mph, ambient outside temp of about 65 degrees. Temps never went over 188.6 in the pan. Great kit, very happy.

Just a simple question. Why wouldn't you prefill the new radiator with AT Fluid? Seems it would help to remove air in the lines.

Just ordered the Setrab kit for my 2021 Sequoia. Any issues with relocating the horn since the Sequoias have the extra front mounted A/C fan?

You'll mount it to the vertical cross member just as the photo below shows. The wire in the photo won't be required.

Thank you. Will post pictures of the install plus temperatures before and after. Not really concerned about towing at this time, but would like to see my pan temperatures stay below 195 when driving on the highway in summer.

Setrab kit is installed. The kit instructions and nitrofishing’s video and many tips here made it easy. Running around town I can already see a temp difference. Looking forward to towing.

It is good to have a “genuinely cool” truck. :woot::woot:

For anyone looking for additional feedback. I just got my first tow in since install.

The Setrab kit netted me 20-50 degrees cooler than last year, with temps right at 200 (highest was 203).

I was towing 8k lbs in S4 T/H at 65mph in 91 ambient temp with a 20 mph headwind. It was a tough tow that netted me 7.3mpg, if that helps anyone, and I couldn't be happier to see the trans temps no longer being a concern.

This is impressive. I’m pretty much done monitoring temps. There’s just no need with the cooler installed.

It was an odd day with the headwind and it would have been scavenging a lot. Sadly this alpears to be the weakness in switching to the 275/70/18 Falkens. The extra weight and size made me consider if a regear is in its future.

Time will tell, but i couldn't have run a higher gear today. Without wind, probably would have been fine.

Removed on 2019+ when the refrigerant for the AC legally had to change. New stuff wouldn't effectively do the job, so Toyota dropped the trans cooler. Read some previous pages in the thread. Lots of discussion.

Manual says to tow in S4 at or under 65mpg.

The way I understand it, the new refrigerant needed more radiator. So the radiator up front that was half for the AC and half for the trans fluid is now just for the AC. The two systems did not interact in any way. Toyota slapped a plate where the thermostat used to be on the side of the transmission and allegedly changed TC lockup programming to help keep temps down.
