Hey guys, Can't seem to find a solid answer searching.

I got an OEM skid plate when I first got my truck, I have a 2001 AC, but I tried to install it and it's way off...

So I'm just wondering if there are differences with AC vs DC skid plates?

more of just info for the next person.

It's in great shape so I don't want to just chuck it...

Man I wouldn't have thought there is a difference but now I'm not so sure. Where did you find this skid plate? I know one person ran into an issue where he found aftermarket skid plates wouldn't work with his truck, because he has a V6, and the crossmember is in a different place. I think that might have been @oscardog86

Is it possible the skidplate you found, was for a V6 Tundra?

I got it from another Tundra owner the first month I got my truck pre-covid.
I'm not sure if he had a DC or not, but definitely not a V6.

Now that I think about it, the bumpers are completely different on DC vs AC. The DC's are also wider. It might make sense that they aren't the same dimensions. If you say the holes don't line up then that probably explains it. Might be a good time to upgrade to Skid Row. I have a discount code for 10% off I think.

How do they not line up? Front to back or side to side?

Yeah, the bolt holes were wider so it probably for a DC.

Post the code and thanks!

Back bolt holes are too narrow so I'm thinking that it's for a DC.

I have a custom front bumper so I thought that was going to be the issue but that part actually fits!o_O :rofl::rofl:

Is it possible to drill new holes or will that mess it up (overlapping holes)?

The construction makes it a problem, multi-layer metal with space in the middle but I didn't check if it's possible.

Generic picture of the OEM plate:

Worst case, in the pile of parts that I promised to bring to you long ago there is a skid plate from my acces cab. Not sure if your new bumper has tabs for it but it will answer the curiosity.

    +1 on skid row

I'll take it, the funny thing is I think the front tabs will work with my new bumper!

Maybe i'll drive up to you, I might be free next weekend if you are.

Take a day trip and buy you a beer
