So, I've been thinking and I've got a couple questions.

    1. I didn't even consider it when making the purchase, but are these rebuildable, or are they units you just replace when worn out?
    2. What setting is everyone planning to use on the front? Stock, Med, Level, Heavy Accessory?
    3. Having never done any kind of suspension work, how do you go about changing the height setting on these? What is the actual process?

Question one I just haven't researched, and I am lazily hoping somebody already knows.

Question two could be a fun discussion for everyone. Personally, I am thinking I'll go for the "Med" setting, as a little lift up front might help with my minor tire rub on mud flaps, but also preserve some of my rake. I like the rake on a pickup.

Question three is because everything I see every where is just "Select the setting and install" or some variation. What do you do to select the setting? What tools do you need? I'm a noob.

    1. Yes, rebuildable. You'll have to send them back to Terra-Flex though. No idea what the cost is for a rebuild.
    2. Mine are set on Med
    3. Instructions are included when you get them and YouTube is your friend too. Also, since these don't come with the coil springs you won't be "changing the height", you'll be starting from scratch.

Having said that, set the snap ring/keeper in the slot of your choice. Slide the spring perch on the shock body and make sure it seats on the snap ring properly. Install the coil spring and rotate it to match the contour of the perch. Compress the spring, install the strut mount (top plate) and install/tighten down the nut on the shock shaft. Double check to make sure the coil is seated properly on the perch and slowly release compression on the spring. Install the completed assembly on truck.

I HIGHLY recommend using a wall mount/stand alone compressor if you have access to one. If not, take it to a shop that does and have them assemble the shocks. It shouldn't cost too much.

1 - I understand that they are rebuildable. I believe I read that on the TeraFlex webpage.
2 - Level - but I too like a little rake and might get some CoachBuilder +1 shackles. Someone here is running that combination but cannot remember who it is.
3 - Instructions show snap ring placement to adjust but they arrive at level setting.

    I asked TeraFlex:
You state that the Tundra: Falcon 2.25” Sport Tow/Haul Shock Leveling System is "• Serviceable and rebuildable (factory serviced)". At what mileage should they be rebuilt? How long does it take? What is the cost? Thanks.
    And TeraFlex responded:
We don't have a specific number on when they will need to be serviced. As long as there is no leaking oil and the shock hasn't lost compression, you can run those shocks as long as you want. It would be the cost of parts and labor to fix the shock and most times it's just an o-ring needing to be replaced after so long and it's a $50-60 service charge. After it arrives back to our warehouse it's about 4-5 day turn around, also depends on what is being fixed.
And now we know the answers.

Question number 3 that I previously asked. I don't think I was clear enough, but I found the answer. I was asking what you actually had to do to move the rings to set your height. Pic below (4runner shocks) makes it look like you just need pliers to squeeze the ring and move to your desired setting.

I also see that the instructions provide:
"Grease front lower coilover bearings every 2500 miles for best performance and to avoid premature wear."
Every 2500 miles seems a lot. Better keep the grease gun set up and ready.

Teraflex suggest Lucas Tacky Red by the way.
It will take 5 minutes to grease them.

2500 is not much especially if you off road a bunch with lots of dust or water crossings.

In the old days when vehicles still came with greaseable suspension components from the factory it was suggested to do every 3k miles with the oil and that was standard pavement vehicles.

They told me Lucas Tacky Red when I called. But likely nearly identical stuff.

But the Redline makes sense since that is the oil they use in the shocks.

Interesting - I note that Redline is 2-3 times more expensive than Lucas. I have no idea how it is different.

No problem. I already have a Greasegun for the boat with Marine grease and the Red will make sure I don't use the wrong one on the shocks.

Thanks. Was not a good day. Debadged the truck also only to have the paint removed from two spots when peeling off the goo.

Tow is gonna be 140 and I'm sure the dealer is gonna be 1200-1500. Plus I gotta get the paint fixed :annoyed: should of just gambled 2k on doge coin and drank a beer today.

How did you manage to break the tie rod? Also tie rods are easy to replace why going to the dealer?
Also it was mentioned in either this thread or the other Falcon thread NOT to use the standard Advance/Autozone rentals. These 700lb springs are beasts!!

Only issue I had when I did mine was a seized nut on the passenger side rear. Had to cut that nut off the factory shock. There is almost zero room to do it. Taking the bed off was discussed but we got it.

Let is sit overnight cool off and go at it again. Just take the old coil overs to a shop and have them swap the springs and get back to work.
    You can finish it up.
