This is what I ordered today.

    - 5100 Bilstein for all four corners
    - icon compression 18×9 wheels +25
    - 275 70 R18 bf goodrich ko2

I'm very indecisive on whether I should go with the middle settings or top settings on the 5100s. I'm going for a level look. I'm a bit nervous if I go with top settings the tires/wheels would look small. Can I get some pictures of middle and top settings with same tires/wheels offset please. Thanks

Middle setting with 275/70 KO2s. Top setting looks too high to me especially with any weight in the bed.

Do you think the +25 offset make a difference?

A +25 offset will make your wheels stick out further from the wheel wells than mine. Should give it a nice look.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning more towards the middle setting.

Ranch Tracker is spot on when it comes to the top setting of the 5100s. I agree, it looks too high. For me even it if measures level, but looks high, it is high.

I just did this...6112 on #2 setting = 1.3” and put a 1/4 inch spacer on drivers side to address the 1/2” lean on drivers side.

My original plan was to go at #3 = 1.9 and I am so glad I didn’t.

I wanted a little rake (lower front end) and it ended up level/very slight rake. So, if I had gone #3 at 1.9” I prolly would have been higher in the front which is a total no-go for me.

To me, the 5100s at top setting make the front too high...then raising the rear is another issue...this can get crazy trying to chase.

In the pic below there is still a slight rake but I have been considering going to the lowest setting .75” on the 6112s because I want enough rake that the ass end doesn’t squat with a load.

    Pic is 275/70/18, 32” Toyo AT3 tires. 33A526C3-13B4-4F07-9442-367A230E165B.jpg

Thanks for the kind comments. The wheels are the standard machine-faced Toyota TRD wheels (non-Pro) (+60 offset) that came on my truck when new. I had them powder coated and added the 6112s and larger tires at the same time.

I went through the same thing when I had my 5100s. My compromise was to go with the middle setting and a coachbuilder shim on each side. This gave me ~2" of lift in front and the truck was dead-level. After a few months I found that carrying constant weight in the bed all summer (popup, chairs, and gear for my kid's swim meets) I was sagging a bit so I installed shackles to lift the back end a bit.

If you ever carry anything in the bed, and you do not want to lift the rear, I would go with the middle setting.

For tires I was running 295x65x18 - these are about the same height as the 295x70's. This pict is with 5100's at the middle setting with 1 cb shim, no lift in the back, and 295x65s:

One thing to keep in mind is if you want some slight rake so the rear doesn’t squat when you haul a payload. I kept my rake at 1” just for this reason. If you’re not planning on touching the rear I’d go with the middle setting.

I am planning on 5100s on middle clip, Icons 18x9 +25mm with 275x70s. All on order from a local tire shop. The wife is taking the truck to So Cal at the beginning of June so it will all be installed when she gets back.

Yeah that's what I decided to do. I already recieved the 5100s just waiting on the tire/wheels to install.

I'm going to wait until the wife gets back from her trip. No use putting 1500 miles on new tires when the ones on the truck now are in good shape. I'm not going to lie, it's killing me ! LOL

I just made a post about this exact topic yesterday. Trying to decide between going top setting with no shim or middle with a shim. I'm looking for right at 2 inches. Have you had any trouble or complaints with your setup?

I ran this setup for about 1 1/2 years and had no issues - it handled well on and off-road. 5100s on the top setting was higher than I wanted to go at that time so middle setting with a shim was the perfect height.

For about a year I ran the mid setting on my 5100s with a shim on each side. I was perfectly level, and kept a nice ride, since I’ve heard feom many that top setting is kinda rough. Currently I have two shims on mid setting, still a nice ride, no issues, and I off-road often.

I did a similar approach with 5100s. Went with a 305/70 17 on a +25 offset. Set the 5100s to the middle (1.8 ish) then had CB shims in reserve to tweak the height. Ended up at about 2.25 lift in the front then had to add a +1 shackle to get some of my rake back. Yes, I could have just gone with the top setting on the 5100 but I figured I'm reserving some shock travel and some ride quality by keeping them on the middle setting. 20210509_154715.jpg

That was my thinking as well on the ride quality. Did you add one of the half inch shims per side?

As others have stated... middle. Top puts it slightly nose high.
