    Morning all.
Recently bought a 2019 Tundra and one of the first things I am in the process of doing is upgrading all the bulbs to LED. I am wondering if anyone has found a 921 LED bulb that works without wiring in a resistor (to avoid hyper flash)?? The JDM Astar's work for the front, didn't know if there was such an option for the rear. OR a 921 with the resistor already tied in? I'd like to keep the stock housing (for now) and have searched, but haven't found anything yet.

PS - why did Toyota use such a tiny bulb for the turn signal?? :(

Vleds has had one in development for over a year now. Still waiting for it to be released. LOL Don't think Covid helped much!

That's a different project that they are working on for the turn as tail system.

I have the Vleds 921 brake light led. Let me pull my order history and I'll let you know what you need...I can't remember if I needed the resistor box.

You might eventually see some hyper flash with the JDM Astars in the front. Mine worked fine for a month or so, then one side started to hyper flash erratically, then the other side started it as well. I added resistors and haven’t had issues since. Resistors aren’t that big of a deal to install.

They were to release a v6 triton 921 in red where you could add the resister without splicing the harness, but they were changing the lens design. Last I checked they said April/May 2021 for these. ( however they keep pushing it back).

I spoke to them 2 weeks ago. The 921 V6 Triton lens is done and it will be part of the tail as turn system and pre-orders will become available in a few weeks. The tail as turn is similar to the Meso system on the Tacoma side of the house.

So you will need the 921 leds and the VLR-6 for the hyperflash. That will run you around $115 or so shipped. Now they are working on a tail as turn system that will release for pre-orders in a few weeks. I will confirm this when I call him. That system would use the V6 Triton system for both turn signal and brake lights so it will have a pretty hefty price tag since the Tritons start out at ~$125 per set.

really? ok, I will watch out for that.
And I realize it isn't a huge deal to at the resistors. I was really trying to avoid splicing, but if I have to, I have to.

I'll post with an update as soon as I talk to them. I want to get more details on the new system. I already have Tritons in the brake lights.

Hear ya. I have the tritons for brake and reverse. The CS I have spoken with said the 921 tritons in red would be available separately, ( unless that was changed?)

PosiTaps make it way easier. If you loosen or remove the battery, you have plenty of room to work with on the driver's side, and the same with the windshield washer fluid reservoir on the passenger side. Just mount the resistors on the engine bay wall so they don't melt anything.

Mounted them behind the tail lights, one on each side, covers front and rear turn signals.
I need to take a pic someday, I have pics of everything else.
The VLED duo taps are nice, but the OEM wiring is so small it takes a little work to get a good connection.
They cost a bit more than cheap resistors, but this wasn't something I was willing to go cheap on..

    From the VLED web description.
    Application
If your vehicle uses the front turn signal as a DRL the best way to add load is on the rear turn signals so they are not continuously active in DRL mode.
The VLR-3 is also used where adding load to both the front and rear circuit is more difficult.
This enables you to install one resistor per side (front or rear) instead of four VLR-6's.

Well the new v6-921 are up for pre order, but it looks like they’re not offering the preorder discount they have in the past. $140 per pair atm.
