What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Yeah that window control module is really cool and also very easy to install.

 

I think it looks pretty slick, anyone have any concerns about the way its wired to the battery ? Disclaimer - I know nothing about wiring so not criticizing just curious.

 

I agree with your concern. I would think it would be better to tap into an always-on 12V supply inside the cab.

 

It would be a little easier to do that as well.

 

Ordered the Pro Holder phone mount.

 

Expecting the parts to show up today for my differential breather relocation. And also got the parts to wire up my power fold mirrors to auto-fold when the truck is turned off.

 

wait just a tick - - what is this madness about auto-folding mirrors when the truck is turned off. you some kind of Hairy Pooter wizrd or something? I'm gonna need to check part numbers on that.

You’ve got memory mirrors…so don’t think it’s gonna work for you. Your power fold functions are all controlled by two ECUs - one in each door. Your switch is just sending a signal.
My Pro didn’t come with power fold, so I added it using the switch from a Gen2 Limited (power fold without memory). In those switches, the switch is directly controlling the power to the mirror. From what I can tell, a DPDT relay wired up right should send power to fold the mirrors when the truck is turned off, then restore whatever the switch is actively set to when the truck is turned on.

 

I should look into the relays for the Lexus RX. My wife's has both memory and auto-fold... Not sure if that's doable, but I'll report back whatever info I find.

 

Here’s a install diy, using KTJO 4x4 harness/kit.
I know there’s a thread on here about the kit somewhere. Just search around, or google it.

 

That’s likely controlled by the same ECUs.
Depending on how your switch actually functions (momentary signal or fixed position - I don’t have a platinum or 1794 to test on), it might be possible to hijack the wiring inside each door between the ECU and the mirror to add a relay to do the same thing. But not sure if that will fully work or not.

Not sure if I keep these Wet Okole covers. At least no more static electricity shocks when I'm getting out of the truck.

 

From what I read on that thread, people were having issues with it correctly working. Not sure how it all worked out in the end…I’ve reached out to KTJO a few times inquiring about different products and really haven’t gotten any response. So I quit asking

 

I had WO’s in my last truck for over 250k miles. They were showing their age at the end, but held up great!

 

Got the tow mirror caps sanded and primed last night. Finish coats today and if all goes well mirrors on later this afternoon.

 

My main point was how quickly the fabric seats get dirty, thanks to sons. I was cleaning them up the other day using Tornador and I was literally coughing because of the dust clouds. Also some stains I could not remove easily, on the truck that is less than 2 years in use!

 

Very true. I chose to have the WO's get dirty over the factory fabric for sure. With dogs, trips to the creek for a swim, etc. it was nice to have the neoprene.
Once a year I'd take them out and run them through the front load washer on delicate cycle, then air dry and re-install. The only issue I had with them was that I did the piping on the edges, and the driver's side outside edge that piping wore through within a year.

Installed some Diode Dynamic fog lights (thanks @memario1214) Did the $16 Tailgate Pop and Lock (appreciate the forum advice on that) and wired up LED’s in my bed since I was running wire. Loomed every thing with expandable wire loom and connected to the bed light wire. Planning on running puddle lights underbody and under seat led lights.

 

Fair enough. Apologies if the thread/contents are not helpful. Admittedly, I didn’t read thru everything. I just remembered there was a diy thread on it, and wanted to put it out there that others were working on it and potentially had success.

I added power mirrors to my ride years ago and just added the oem switch. At the time, I don’t think there was any discussion on the auto feature. I understand it being a nice touch. (We had a c-class a couple years ago with it). For the truck tho, I just hit the button when I feel the need.

 

Went and put some new shoes and socks on the rig. Kept the OEM tire size since we are towing and I didn't want any surprises. Will throw the existing steel rims and tires on CL for cheap in case someone needs them more than the tire shop.

 

@RainMan_PNW is more at Dumbledore level wizardry. But yes, it is definitely magic.

 

My GS350 has memory and auto-fold as well. Clearly Toyota knows how to do it. The question is whether the Lexus ECUs can be used to make it work in a Tundra.

 

These look good! If I ever move to a spray-in liner, I'd like to do the same!

 

Thank you sir. I’m to cheap to buy a kit that will leave me wanting something more. These are $9 leds that I picked up off eBay along with the wire and loom. There are existing holes there that I assume are for bed stake bolts? I have less than $20 in it. I sealed all of the leds with epoxy which is overkill under my bed cover. It’s way brighter than the picture leads you to believe.

 

The bronze wheels with silver sky paint look killer! Gives me ideas

 

Just got her out of the shop today....3/2 ReadyLift, Window Tint, 305/70 R18 Hercules Terra-Trak TG MAXX tires......
Now I've got to remove the front mud-flaps and maybe some trimming to do....but I LIKE HER!!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention 1.5" Wheel spacers....
