sleep setup i use a tri-fold mat from Amazon about $100, super comfy.
Also i finally cut my fan guard.
holes big enough to fit your finger thru, check, and it flows less than a mesh guard, check, badass factor making the first 2 pounts mute, check haha.
Just need to transfer my led strips over, using some basic white led 4diode clusters rn.
Bed rug helps quite a bit with heat loss. So did covering the windows with styrofoam. Held by velcrow patches, easy to take off.
Overall, thats where she is currently.
Added a 2nd 100w solar panel on the roof too.

The 05-06 has a 5 speed auto. Your new to you 04 has a 4 speed auto. Your new to you 04 also appears to have bigger tires. The gearing is the biggest factor here killing mpg and power to the ground. The VVTi is the icing on the cake for the later models. A re-gear would be the most appreciable mod you could make to get that feeling of power back. Both trucks look great. Congrats on the new to you rig.

 

yes 05-06 is 4spd with overdrive,
04 3spd with overdrive. overdrive affexts final ratio, not a true 'gear,' schemantics i suppose but i got ya, and they suck for hills etc. Thank hell we have 2800rpm lockouts. Such a bandaid fix used for years by manufactures to keep panetary trans alive.
And no i dont beleive the truck will never catch up to a vvti.
even the ratios are bad, 1st is abruptly short, 2nd sucks pulling thru unless shifting near 3k from first and 3rd is ok, ide assume 1:1, 3k cruising is 95mph, extrapolating to prolly 120top, you would never need to do past 105 why even gear that tall. Within the first week i was debating what easier, a vvti&4spd swap or ls. Its that noticeable.
These tires are not appreciably larger, the 17s are deceiving, gps says 5% difference.
Ill regear when i get 35s.
Mostly this is a clean cruiser and go neat places rig, not a racer, yet.

 

Installed Firestone 2245 kit.
Probably shouldve been the first mod, the difference is night&day.
Added Daystar cradles.
Slightly modded the mount bracket.
Ran a bolt thru the bottom, welded the head(could've got away with 3heavy tacks, but had some fun instead) , decked it, now it acts like a stud for the cradles. In case the nut ever comes loose, it should stay in place.
The second bolt stops potential rotation of the cradle.

 

Also pulled the trigger on the gx460 setup

 

I had hoped to make a little side cash modifying calipers for people in San Diego but have had like zero customers so far.
So heres my jig to mill it yourself!
I FARO'd the caliper at work (I was an OEM Engineer for K&N, literally quit last friday), making sure the faces were dead parallel such that this setup will work.
I capture 3 of 4 bolts on the jig(3/8" plate), so the last bolt still keeps the 2 halves together when mounting and unmounting.
Set your DRO on the mill and party on wayne.

Braking is killer.
I guess its maybe truck to truck luck, my 06 DC braking was total shit.
Unsure if DC/sequioa master cyl or booster is larger? Seems like the AC ppl were complaining more in the 14WA thread. Maybe the DC handles the swap better, but i dont know!
But i can say for my truck, brilliant upgrade.

 

Do you have an ID on the tri fold mattress? i would like one as well but couldn’t find one on Amazon at that price point.

If i could request a peice of info, anyone know the torque spec of the caliper bolts? Called toyota and the techs didnt know, and a few other avenues.

When i got the calipers i think i used my torque wrench and got close going up in tq until it moved a bolt and cross referenced off m10(?also forgot size by now too) torque spec chart but idk 8.8 10.8 so it was all a range (which would get ya close) but for the life of me i cant remember what spec i bolted mine back together with.
Would be nice to know the offcial spec! Thanks

@FrenchToasty good to know for the caliper bolts to upright torque spec. My bad shouldve specified, i was hoping for the 4 bolts holding the caliper halves together because i loosen 3 to bolt up to the jig.
I think i got close when bolting mine back together when done on the mill, but cant remember what spec i ran with! haha

@assassin10000 thats the most complete diagram ive seen. and theres rebuilt it yourself kits, weird no spec is included! Oh well.

Yeah. Thats what I was thinking, but then was confused if the question was for the Bolts that hold the two Caliper halves together (not specified).
