Any advice for the UCAs? My Alumas come in today and some guys said they had one hell of a time with removing the UCA bolts. Thanks.

Getting them loose be prepared with a large breaker bar as they are on tight. There is some finagling around wires and hardlines on both sides. On the passenger side I unclipped several wire harnesses from the engine compartment side wheel well area. You will get an idea of which ones pretty quick just by looking where the bolt needs to go.. On the drivers side you have some hard lines an stuff to maneuver around. Make sure you have a few different extensions handy.. Both side are not bad just take your time to look around an move what you need to move. They really are not bad..

Thanks for the tips. So really it's just maneuvering once you break the torque? Some were talking like they couldn't get the bolt to slide out of the UCA itself.

Well I could see that as being a possibility. I have a 17 up in rust country an had no issues with them being stuck in there(rust). It's a long a$$ bolt which just makes snaking it in an out a bit of a PITA.

Thanks fellas. I haven't looked over the instruction sheet for the SPC's yet, but I would pop the upper ball joints and remove the UCA with just the wheels removed and then after installing the SPC and balljoint to the spindle I can move to the coilover process?

Yep you got it. Also don't expect any install instructions in the box.. SPC had some minimal info, coilovers had nadda .. YouTube is your friend .

Yeah I installed the spacer kit that is in it now so I'm familiar with that portion of it. Loosening the LCA makes a world of difference.

Those bolts were tight but they came right out after I broke the torque loose. It was harder to separate the ball joint from the spindle. The only issue I have now is trying to get the SPC ball joints to take grease. I don't know if it's the fitting on the grease gun that I bought at Autozone. Can I remove the zirk fitting and fill it that way?

Um I don't think so but a standard grease gun should work. Sometimes on mine if I have the "tip" of the grease gun to tight it won't snap onto the zerk so maybe try loosening it a little?

I'll try that and see what happens. The grease just seeped from under the tip.

I probably have about 400 miles on mine now. So much better than the spacer kit. I had the Readylift 3/2.

    Aluma 2.5 coilovers
    SPC upper control arms
    Boss rear with resis
    Toytec shackles at 1.5
    1/2 inch rear axle shims
TRD sway bars front and rear
18x9 on 0 offset with 285/70/18 Ridge Grapplers

Pretty close to dead level. 41.5 on all four corners from ground to the bottom of the flares.

Hey if I send you a quote sheet that I received, can you look at it and see if it's a descent deal or not? My 13 is the 4.6 with 95,000 miles.

Looking at the Aluma series for my next coil over. Looking like it would fit my needs great but curious if anyone has input on how the Aluma c/o's handle the "Tundra Lean"? I've been running ICON 2.5s for a while and they need to be cranked an additional ~1/3 inch vs passenger side. Would like to avoid that if possible any input would be great, thx

They are adjustable so you can even it out if you need to.

Bought the Aluma 2.0 3inch lift and am waiting for the rears and the SPC UCA's to come in from back order. Hoping to do the work myself.

This will make life a lot easier for swapping out the UCA's. I would recommend reading the instructions now so that you can post any questions that you have. You will need to loosen the lower control arm cam bolt so that it drops down far enough to swap the coilovers. If you have no experience with suspension, do NOT get your fingers between the spring and the UCA when the arms drops and you remove the bolts and lower the coil. It will hurt like a mother.

Not a problem. The written instructions do pretty much cover everything but there are some things that some of us had to do such as put a slight bend in the ABS bracket on the UCA to take the tension off of it. Many of us have done our own installs so we are here to help. Some say you have to remove the battery and washer tank to get the UCA bolts out....the battery and tank do not have to be removed. There is 1 bolt on the frame on the drivers side, and the rest is just popping the harnesses out of the plastic retaining clips. We can cover that when you get ready for your install.

Toytec did away with the Boss with resis when they got the rear 2.0's. I have the resis on mine.

they said if you're like a city driver, these probably last you about 40k to 50k miles. Off roading to aggressive off roading, probably about 35k miles. I'm hoping that mine will last me a few years until it needs a rebuild cause by then, I'm upgrading to Elka's Performance suspension or something even better
