Looking good. I’m interested in your feedback on the Kendas. They are on my list when I get tires.

Just ordered my Tundra Trail Edition CrewMax in Cement on Saturday build date May 4. Does it not really come standard with Remote Start? I do have the Connivance Package.

I do not have remote start. Not sure if that is part of convenience package or not.

Do you even really want the OEM remote start? It shuts off the truck when you open the door :frusty:

Nice warm day and I was finally able to wash, clay, and then use the Griot's 3 in 1 ceramic. I stood back after all that work to survey the beautiful result...then remembered my truck is white and it looks exactly like it did before I started!

We'll get rain later this week and I'll be able to see if it beads up any better. I've had decent success with that stuff on other vehicles. Next week I'll put in a X2Power 27F AGM (rebranded Northstar) so I don't have to worry about the stock battery.

Truck is driving great and is so comfortable...very happy with this purchase!

Went out and got mine dirty. Ditch lights are great on on gravel roads at night.

Well I bit the bullet, ordered a ranch hand summit bullnose bumper, rancho 2.25 lift coilovers, and lasfit switchable led fog lamp bulbs that can toggle from clear to amber with factory switch. All will be going on soon. The bumper might get modified first, going to see if I can weld in a front receiver tube, maybe two, in order to get a diy stable ride cargo rack hitched up when I need to add more cargo capacity or a bike rack. Also added a mirror mount uniden r3 radar detector powered from rearview mirror harness/plug and my cobra 29 cb got mounted under the drivers seat. Just had to do a quick turnaround down to Gulf Shores, AL and the Uniden r3 is a great tool for getting the Tundra down the road at a really quick clip. Only downside is the limiter shuts down at 109 MPH. Factory tires are pretty close at that number too, so it works. I will say this, she can guzzle fuel and get down the road nice and smoothly with great confidence in handling and braking. Some vehicles lose confidence at high speed, not the case with this beast. Anyway, all in all, I can say I just about lived in the drivers seat for over 12 hours per day for nearly a week while in Alabama and to and from, about 3200 miles all combined, no way do I suggest anyone try it, the seat just isn't made for it, your tail will get angry! Been home a few days now, but still tender! Not sure if I told you all yet, but I did install my tranny cooler b4 I left too, she now hangs around 180-190 degrees on the highway at a good clip. For anyone looking to run wires from inside to outside, grommet in floor behind front passenger seat just inside frame rail is easy to access, pull up door sill and carpet clip nearest hole and you can reach under the carpet easily. Happy Truckin' folks!

Update: I found a front receiver from drawtite that will bolt up using tow hook mounts, and I think it will fit under the ranch hand bumper, so it is on the way. It will also act as a shield to catch whatever roadkill is thrown downstairs by the ranch hand bumper. Also got some coachbuilder coilover shims to give an extra 1/2" of lift due to the research that dictates the rancho coilovers will be limited with crew max overall weight. Research says no way will I get 2 plus inches. No worries, a little shim and all is well. Then I also decided to order some +2 coachbuilder shackles to lift the rear 1.5. Will also drop the driveshaft carrier bearing 3/4". Will drop the front diff 1" also. Hoping to end up with the rear about 3/4" or 1" higher than the front when all the dust settles. Should be pretty close considering constant weight in my storage boxes, with recovery, tools, straps, etc. If all else fails, easy to add a bit more if necessary to get the height balanced. Oh yeah, front bump stop extensions, got those too. Don't ever mod a front suspension without taking into account your bump stops or you will be tearing up your shocks when they bottom out and take a blow that they are not at all designed for. Not sure about rubber yet, if all looks and works well, the stock michelins will remain. Like to keep tires on the smaller side to keep the tranny happy towing heavy loads. However, two sets is somewhat an option. Not the best option, but time will tell. Damn truck is getting into my wallet at this point! Going to be sweet to get all this done before the summer heat arrives! Maybe post up some photos in a few weeks if everything arrives in a timely manner. You all be safe and keep your families safe!

How do you guys let your Trail? I came close to purchasing one. Love the Army Green. The trail by me sold and I ended up getting a Sport instead.

I like it a whole bunch. It is my attainable dream vehicle. ( Obviously if I won the lottery all bets are off ) truth be told the bed boxes are only okay, but I like how it's just a good looking SR5 with the upgrade package. Mine came with all kinds of little cosmetic things that all work well with each other. ( All badges are black, black inserts in the tailgate, black chrome exhaust tip, dark wheels, etc)

Mine didn’t come with the black chrome exhaust tip, but I picked one up at the dealer and it was the easiest install after the TRD shift knob. I like the way it looks and it is a beautifully made piece.

Does anyone know definitively if the TRD skid plate has the red logo on it? It does in stock photos but the recent YouTube install videos show it being “blank”. I really like the blank look and would order one for the first oil change if I could guarantee it being blank.

I believe that older versions of the TRD plate did not come with the red logo. I am pretty sure that the newer ones include the logo.

I'll probably go RCI powder-coated aluminum in that case. I'd prefer it all black anyway; I was just trying to stick with Toyota parts. Thanks!

Update: The ranch hand bumper has arrived, it's a beast! There is no way the Rancho quick lift coilovers will work, not only because crewmax weight, but also the ranch hand and the front receiver. All together over 200 lbs at the very front. So, the Rancho coilovers are going back and fat bobs garage vated 3" coilovers with 700# springs which are bilstein 5100s with adjustment collars similar to toytec boss are inbound via ups air. Going to buy once, cry once! Might throw in a 1/4" coachbuilder shim and back down the adjustment just a little. Trying to find out what is going on with coachbuilder, can't get status on my shackle order yet. Trying to get this truck done ASAP. Fwiw, there is no substitute for this ranch hand bumper, photos do absolutely no justice. It almost needs it's own idependant chassis! If only now I could find some decent rear traction bars to keep the axle more stable. Don't want to keep stressing all those components for the long haul. BDS has some but damn, another grand?? I guess it is pay now or pay later! Just wanted to share my experience, pics coming soon.

I posted in another thread about this but incase any of my fellow trail edition guys missed it, I got a bunch of stuff to fit.
Trail Edition boxes, Leitner Rack, Rago Bed Stiffeners, and OEM Bed Rails. A little trimming, some custom holes, and a few grade 8 nuts and bolts.

I dig the rack, might get one and add a piece of heavy expanded metal with hinges behind the rear window somehow to protect the window and hinge open to clean the glass.

The truck is still attacking my bankroll, ordered a set of bds recoil traction bars, a set of hella auxillary driving lights for the front bumper, and a westin hdx headache rack that I intend to slightly modify with a few braces and a winch mount for an atv winch to mount up under the rear window. The ranch hand sport rear bumper is in my sights now too, just waiting on a damn promo code to seal the deal. Finally, getting somewhere with transforming this toy into a "truck"! Glad I bought it when the price was right, never guessed I would be adding 5 grand in the first year though. Thank you to my fellow American taxpayers! Please send more stimulus, and I will be happy to stimulate the economy even more!

Update: Fat Bob's adjustable +3" coilovers have arrived, and they are of great quality! I will release them about two full turns prior to installation. As for bump stops, I will be using factory with extension in the front location and wheeler's superbumps with extension in the rear front to give it a progressive bottom out point, trying to minimize any hard impacts. Looks like coach builder shackles are a few days out so I will be doing the front this weekend and rear next weekend. The front bumper will be this weekend too. Next week the headache rack arrives too. A few weeks on the front receiver and rear traction bars. Shipping is slow now unfortunately. Trying to decide on tires either Toyo AT3/ Bf KO2/ Nitto RG. Still need a coupon code for the rear bumper discount, maybe next week. Take care!

Was hoping you could tell me from the pictures I posted of my exhaust pipe if the black chrome tip would fit my truck. I was wondering if your exhaust pipe had a "flare" at the end of it like mine?

    Just things to protect it...
Just got the current Toyota TRD skid plate and it DOES have the red TRD logo on it. However, it's pretty slick how they did the letters and I think it should look good for a long time. I'm planning to paint my front tow hooks the same red (saw several other people doing this) and I think it should be a good look.
