    I am running method nv 305s 17inch 0 offset with 285/70r17 ko2s. I only bought four rims/wheel but purchased 5 tires.

I really don’t want to spend the money and buy another method wheel to just to have it mounted under the truck. I would feel different if I had a cool rear tire mount. Also I paid $242 each in December and they are $262 each right now.

Is there a inexpensive steel rim option with the same offset and size? I just need it to work incase shit happens on a trail or highway.

Should I just use my stock spare rim? My budget is about $150

    Method Specifications

    Sku# MR30578560500

    Wheel Diameter- (IN 17
    Wheel Width - 8.5
    Bolt Pattern - 6x5.5
    Offset (mm)- 0
    Hub Bore (mm)- 108.00
    Backside Spacing (in)- 4.75

I was in the same boat, but I decided to not even carry a spare tire. AAA is just a call away.

Is your spare rim 17”? (Most are 16”)

Does AAA come out on the trails?
I have always wondered about this what are their actual rules are?

Most of my off roading are technically on County or National Forest Roads. Be it unmaintained and many run up the middle of the creek bed at times. It is still a county road and one must have a valid registration to be operating on it.
    Wonder how AAA handles that.

But to the OP do no NEED the offset so you don’t rub????
Offset or overall width does not really matter just overall diameter of the tire.
You can always make sure to put the spare on the rear (yes adds an extra step).
You could also just buy a spacer for the spare. Or keep cruising all the wheel sites and eBay looking for a close out.

That is how I buy my oversized spare tire. I find a close out from a place that has a lone tire left.
Got a 275/70/18 Goodyear Wrangler Adventure with Kevlar for $120 as it was the last one TireRack had.

Their limitation concerning off road is ambiguous. I think it depends on local towing services which aaa chooses to use. It will most likely cost for local service, but aaa will reimburse it.

Following. I feel the same. I’ve been working/thinking of a way to carry mine in the bed and have sort of a fabricated piece that it mounts too and bolts in and locks of course. I want something that looks good but keeps it there if I need it. Not under

I recommend biting the bullet and getting a matching wheel. I have MR701 wheels and figured peace of mind and ease of replacement due to size/offset worth it. My tires are 295/70/17 and it fit in spare location with no trimming of spare brackets. I placed the face of the wheel up as to minimize road damage... If you go hard off-road the under the bed mount could potentially be an access issue. Good luck.

I agree! I’m ordering matching spare for sure. Anyone see any great ideas for keeping spare in bed without drilling ?

I think the thing to look for is will the steel wheel clear your caliper. With 16" steel wheels and 13wl brakes the answer is often no. A 17" hopefully would fit.

Yeah, I think I will just bite the bullet. I already have the matching tire. I thought about carrying a random steel rim but it would only fit in the rear. Without a 0 to negative offset it would rub on the UCA in the front. Changing two tires during a flat sounds like no fun.

Plus I would have to carry stock lug nuts to mount it. Since the methods take different lugs. I knew this was the answer but I guess you need to hear it from others.

I guess it’s pay to play. Anyone got a discount for methods?

Dead stock with oem 16" starfish wheels. We'll see how long that lasts. :) Topper of unknown origin.
I was 6.3 miles down a marked road on NFS land stuck at the bottom of a steep driveway on private property (no house, no nothing, just a driveway to vacant land) after the first snow of the year (not a Tundra, it was a 2WD car) and AAA refused to fetch me. I don't recall exactly what the explanation was but it may have been a lack of 4WD hooks in the area, being too remote or something like that. The car was at risk of being stranded for the winter so I called a private tow company and paid $450 for a tow. Those guys are awesome and they had a ton of fun hauling it up the hill.

Probably no deals on a single Method but I'd call the Method dudes; they might work with you.

Update: bought a method rim from offerup. It’s not a direct match but close enough. All the measurements line up. Got it for $125. I can finally wheel and drive with peace of mind.

Will still be on the search for an exact match 305 nv in black.

but here she is. Total spare cost was $275 with a matching new ko2 spare from another seller.
