Dealership has never heard of it the dealership was booked for the next 2 weeks and they moved me to tomorrow because of a “safety concern” I’ll keep everyone updated

Disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes, then get someone to hold the power button down while you reconnect the battery. This should reset the radio and correct the screen problem.

Make sure the replacement has a warranty for at least as long as the rest of your truck. Sometimes dealers will only warranty for a year or less for electrical replacement items. Ask questions before they replace it.

If they don't fix it, invite a friend to drive it and then say "What'd you do?!!!!!!!!"

Dealership said they will replace the “radio” which I’m assuming is the whole head unit I’m really hoping they do this right or I’ll be hearing wires bounce around for the next 7 years

The head unit swap is very straight forward. Nothing for them to screw up with loose wires. Glad they're getting you squared away.

I agree with Jake. You'll be fine. Really strange that it happened though.

Hope you get your radio replacement sooner than me. While fixing a rattle in the IP the dealership damaged the bezel around the radio on both sides. I have been waiting on a replacement now for over 2 months!!! On the bright side they at least acknowledged their screw up and are going to fix it....eventually.

If you really want, you can get to the diagnostics section of your touchscreen and do a factory reset, but I would probably only do that as a last ditch effort if they were not going to cover it on warranty.

Obviously, you'll probably have to do this while standing on your head:

Without starting the truck, put the pushbutton start into "on/ignition" without touching the brake pedal (do not start the truck). After the touchscreen cycles though the intro/warning screens, press and hold down the (physical) menu button while cycling the headlights on and off 3 times. Release the menu button. Should bring up the diagnostics screen with the reset option. I've never had to use it; use at your own risk. Might be best just to wait and get the new head unit if they're going to warranty it.

If you give your 2 weeks notice to quit your job where I work, they won't let you touch the network. I heard a computer tech did this to all the computers on his last day. Upside down and inverted.
