I bought a cluster. I'm thinking of how best to fit it in with the existing bezel. I might need to do some custom fiberglass work.

Can you provide part numbers for the cluster you used and where you got the connectors? I have a 5.7 but don't have the nice 26 gallon tank

OP posted a table of the cluster part numbers in post#2 of the thread and which one he used. I got the same cluster PN coming to me. Unlike the OP, I will be utilizing DB25 connectors to make the "pigtail crossover" from Gen2 cluster wiring to Gen3 cluster wiring. I'm also getting Tundra Speedo Dash Bezel PN: 55410-0C100 as part of a custom fiberglass bezel to incorporate it into the Gen2 dash. Or I may end up using an easier method to then have the custom dash bezel 3D printed.

Also, what size tank do you have? I thought the 26 gallon was the smallest offered...?

That's awesome you would think that you could swap out 3 gen for a newer 3 gen. Its about the only change I could really notice for our trucks.

I am interested to see how you adapt yours to fit the dash. I have had several people ask about getting a harness but am hesitant to offer them without out a solid way to mount the newer cluster in the older dash. I have practice with and access to a Faro 3D scanner. I was thinking of 3D printing an “adapter” to bolt in the cluster. Don’t have an answer for trim yet. I see you bought a 2014 dash trim (was going to be my next step)

I just hooked my truck up to Techstream. Airbag light is on because the airbag ecu can not see the RSCA off indicator switch. I am looking into this but other than that absolutely no problems yet while testing.

I glanced at the 2018+ Wiring diagram for those clusters. I see lots of new features for Toyota Safety Sense. I never thought about 2014-2017 guys wanting a newer cluster also.

Need to spend the time and breakdown the 2018 diagram pin by pin.

I am in the middle of building an AC control harness now.

Just finished wiring in the A/C controls. Everything works no problem, just need to move the wire to activate the hazard lights down from by the info buttons to the new AC controls. The 2014+ have the hazard button on the AC panel

All lights, AC control knobs, buttons, airbag warnings work just like they should.

The 2007-2013 Tundras have a 16 pin connector, while the 2014+ use an 8 pin connector to control the AC panel. I did the same crossover method, move the pins from the 16 pin connector to the 8 pin via an inline harness.

EDIT: After playing it for a while I realized the temp adjustment knob was not actually working. When viewed in Techstream on the laptop I could see a temp adjustment setting for both Driver and Pass. The 2007 is dual zone with two temp adjustment knobs. HOWEVER, the 2014 is not dual zone and only has one center temp adjustment. As I turned the 2014 temp adjustment knob I realized nothing was registering in Techstream. Long story short I finally realized the solution was to swap out the AC amp. I had the one from my 2017 front clip laying in my garage. I plugged it in and boom fixed. Techsteam sees the new AC amp and now it only shows one temp adjustment(Driver, the Pass is no longer displayed) which full registers as I move the new knob.

If you are going to do this swap you need to buy a new AC Amplifier as well or else you will not be able to adjust the air temp. To bad Toyota did away with dual zone AC in 2014+

I will post the Part #s of the AC amps Old and New

Not yet but to me the two biggest hurdles are cleared, the insturment cluster and AC both work. From here is just the radio ( might just go aftermarket), the steering wheel, and all the buttons/switches. All the buttons and switches seems to be the same except the new ones light up blue instead of orange.

Working on buying a full 2014+ dash panel and center console. With that installed the interior swap will be over halfway completed

    Nice job!!

As much as I'd like to do this myself, my wife constantly reminds me that my truck is an inexpensive higher mileage older vehicle that isn't my daily driver. I MAY be able to convince her to let me swap the gauge cluster with one from the Limited trim, and on your link from LKQ, I only see that for the 4.6L engine, not the 5.7L.

Pay no attention to the first pic of every listing. Look at all the following pictures. The important part is to click the "source vehicle" tab and it will tell you if the cluster came from a 4.6 or 5.7.

I'll be interested in seeing how you get that cluster and climate controls to work with the 2nd gen dash. I'm curious how close that cluster and controls are to the newer Sequoia's since they still have the 2nd gen dash.

I am 99% sure Sequoia stuff is a direct fit into the 2007-2013 Tundra Dash. The dash still looks the same shape. I thought about a 2020 Sequoia Cluster and AC controls but don't exactly like the look.

I am already committed to a full 2014+ interior swap. I am buying and installing a dash out of a 2016 truck now.

Something I have been planning for years. I am just very dedicated to the project because I want to build something that is very clean yet rare and unique. It will be worth it in the long run and I have no problem investing money and time to make sure it is right.

My girlfriend definitely complains about the time but its ok

So the cluster and AC controls are mounted. Also this is a teaser photo of what is coming.
