On my Tundra I noticed this on the paint protector sticker that is in front of the rear wheels.

Is this just a sticker they forgot to remove when it was delivered or should I take it to the dealer?

It looks like air bubbles. It's on both sides of the truck.

The texture you see is the chip guard that Toyota has on all Tundras. It's completely normal. The clear stickers are added protection.

I can push the bubbles around with my finger. Seems like it should all be the same color.

The sticker is intentional and not meant to be removed. The texture under the paint is caused by the chip guard. The air bubbles in the sticker are caused by the textured surface they are applied to. IIRC you can even order replacement stickers to replace worn out/damaged ones.

    This is normal.

You're not the first to see this, and there have been some issues with white tundras, and some discoloration on Cement, Cavalry Blue, and other flatter/less glossy colors. Nothing on black or MGM that I am aware of. See the linked threads that come up when searching "paint issue" and "Chip guard".

I’d get a vinyl squeegee and try to push the bubbles out while applying heat from a heat gun or hair dryer. Looks like it wasn’t smoothed out all the way when it was applied. The summer heat might even take care of the bubbles for you on its own.

It’s the texture/depth of the chip guard areas preventing the protection film from laying completely flush. You see air bubbles wherever the film can’t adhere.

My truck has the same thing, as do a few of my friends. Doesn’t really matter.

Hi everyone, bumping this thread on another paint issue question for Cavalry Blue.

On my 2020 Off-road, the paint almost seems "soft" for lack of a better word. It scratches so easily compared to my last Gen 2 tundras that were white and another black.

Also, the couple drops of tree sap seem to have dissolved the paint after a recent trip to the mountains. Like it was acid...

Anyone else seen this on their beautiful Cavalry Blue trucks?

Yup, and I've also got the grey discoloring on the rocker panels.

Normal. Difficult to have ppf lay flat over a textured surface, that's the reason you see some air pockets.
