I picked this up yesterday and didn't notice it until this morning.

The hell is this? This isn't normal is it? It's on both sides along that bottom section.

That is normal. It's a chip resistant layer under the paint. All Tundras have it.

No need to be sorry. Everybody learns. I asked at the dealership when I saw it on mine.

Thats called orange peal by the Cubans I worked with. Very common on new paint, and usually can be buffed flat.

I think they resolved it, but the white trucks did have a recall for paint in that general area. Something about the whole part peeling up. There is a thread about it somewhere, but I am 90% sure Toyota resolved it.

Yeah it's a 2020 Trd Pro and I waited 2 months for it. Was pretty crestfallen. I have a ceramic coating appointment next Saturday.

Totally understand. Besides, it's healthy to get the pulse racing every once in a while, right?

Yeah, I had a 2017 Focus RS that broke over and over. Sold it with 7000 miles after 3 engines and 2 turbos. I'm so over badly made vehicles.
