Badknees, what size spacers are shown in your profile tundra pic? I’m trying to get an idea of what 1” looks like as opposed to 1.25 or higher. I don’t wanna have em throwing shit all over my truck either but I’m curious as to the look

It hard for me to tell much difference in the stance, but for sure there is much less stuff thrown on my truck using 1.0" spacers. If you use 1.0" on a 3rd Gen., the rear lugs will protrude through the spacer and into the wheel mounting area about 1/8". However, if you're running stock TRD OR or BBS wheels, they have pockets that will allow for this.
Here's a pic with TRS OR wheels and 1.25" Spacers:
    Tundra Front 2.jpg
And here's a pic with Pro BBS wheels and 1" BORA spacers:

Trying to figure our what thickness to get. I have the black TSS rims (which I believe are a +50 offset) and toyota fender flares. What offset should I aim for to fillout the well without throwing excessive junk on the side? I've been looking at Spidertrax 1.25".

If you're running OEM fender flares, I'll bet you'd be fine with the 1.25" Spidertrax.

Mines a 1st gen with stock flares and stock rims. Not sure what that means for the lugs protruding through. How do you deal with that issue if it comes up? Maybe 1.25 would be ok in my case.. I’d probably stick with 1” though just to be safe. Love the black rims btw, huge difference in the overall look. Night and day!

Thanks for the compliments. I was worried at first about the BBS wheels, but they are growing on me very fast. I had an '06 Tundra but never installed spacers. I'll bet there are plenty of others on this site with good knowledge of your application if you search and ask. Another good resource is Wheelers Off Road or other shops that sell the spacers as they often know how spacers fit various vehicles. Below is a picture of the rear lug protruding through a 1" BORA spacer on the rear hub of my 2016 CM. If your stock wheels have "pockets" between the mounting holes they might accommodate a little amount of stud length. You should be able to easily measure your stud length to know how far they will pass through a given spacer thickness. If your studs are too long and no wheel pockets, then the other option is to trim the studs, which for me isn't a great thing to do.

I was gonna ask about that (trimming the studs) with a cutoff wheel or something similar I suppose, but that sounds a little sketchy to me. I’ll take a peek and do some research and see where it goes, thanks.

I'm sure trimming isn't a big deal, it just hurts me to do that sort of mod. to a newer truck. BTW, and not trying to insult your intelligence, but the other obvious option is to buy aftermarket wheels with the offset you want.

Rugged Ridge spacers are a good option too if the Bora's are hard to get. Made from 6061 T6 billeted Aluminum and hub centric. They go on sale every now and then. Decent warranty. 5 years.

I wanted the Bora's too but ended up with the 1.25" Rugged Ridge. They are going on tomorrow. I'd beware of a lot of off brand spacers being sold on flea bay. Bora and Spidertrax are prolly the best but I couldn't find anything negative about the Rugged Ridge spacers. I even called RR first to get some more info from them directly. RR sells a lot of Jeep spacers among other Jeep goodies. They now offer spacers for the Tundra. 10.9 grade studs. Grade 8 nuts. Reasonably priced.

Before is stock TRD suspension with TRD rims which I like a lot with blaaaack. I have Zone UCA's and know that the 1.25" should have plenty of clearance. I like @Badknees idea of using the 1" Bora spacers. I want to see how much clearance I actually get with the 1.25" and Zones first then decide if I want to go to the 1" Bora. You really don't know until everything is on.

I just did the exact same thing!! I have the spacers, but I am waiting on my lift to come in, then I have to get an alignment....then I have to order/get tires mounted and balanced. I am wayyyyyyy too impatient for this.

In all seriousness though, I have used Rugged Ridge products in the past on my wife's JKU and they make quality products. I did not even hesitate to buy spacers from them.

I obviously considered the Bora and Spidertrax first but the Rugged Ridge seemed to also fit the bill. Rugged Ridge does have a good reputation with the Jeep crowd.

Link to the RR spacers you purchased? Just want to make sure the ones I’m looking at are the same

So they're billet and splined lugs? No mention of any specs on their site. Obviously the price is a lot better $220 compared to $290 for Spidertrax (and they're black which I prefer).

Lol no worries you’re not gonna hurt my feelings. Im more or less a body and paint guy and dont have much knowledge on these subjects, but I am very mechanically inclined and it doesn’t seem too complicated. Just wanna make sure my wheels don’t decide to jump off the truck and put me in the river or something.
Aftermarket wheels I wouldn’t be able to do at the moment, I’ve dumped a lot of cash into this 15 year old truck lately and I think my wife would beat me if I went that route.
I’ll probably check out the spidertrax or maybe rugged ridge like Black Wolf mentioned above.

I am in the Jeep crowd and Rugged Ridge is generally cheepo stuff. After having a couple of their parts, I won't be buying anything from them again. That isn't to say the spacers would be bad though.

I have been running Spidertrax spacers on my Jeeps for many years and never had an issue. I do, however, rotate my own tires and do not use an impact gun on them, rather than taking them to the tire shop if I can. If the 295's rub when they go on, I will got this route for sure.

These are definitely CNC'd from billet aluminium. The real deal. They don't come in 1" like the Boras. 20210325_150458.jpg 20210325_150437.jpg 20210325_150244.jpg

Call or email Josh@1stgenoffroad.com for all things 1st gen related. He sells a lot of stuff specific to the 1st gen Tundras and Sequoias and has lots of videos on YT for intalls and whatnot. He'll surely know what spacers will fit where on the 1st gen trucks.

I have a set of 1.25” rugged ridge, good quality spacer. Never had a problem running spacer. It’ll will be fine when torque down properly.

There’s a lot of bad press on wheel spacers for some reason but they are very safe and work great as long as the quality and installation is good. Best of luck in your mods and pls. share photos when you’re done. Looks like a Merc 135 Optimax in your Avatar pic?

Just received my Bora 1.25 spacers today actually! Ordered on February 1st as a reference. I’ll be installing them this weekend. If they’re hub centric they’re good to go.

My 1” BORA instructions stated to torque the same as the factory wheel torque spec. I felt that was a bit low so I torqued mine to 125 Ft-lbs...I should state too that max is 140 Lb-ft. BTW, these are hub-centric. Mine were a perfect fit.

Yea 97 sounds strange but Dave at CB told me to do it that way so I’ll give it a try with red thread lock. It’s funny Bora’s instructions say don’t use threadlock but the video on their website the guy uses threadlock lol.
