Anyone know the lowest offset I can do in my tundra TRD pro without having to do BMC?

hello, this is my first post, but been reading on this site awhile. I have a 2019 platinum that is stock everything right now with the standard 20 inch rims. I'd like to put some sort of lift on it to allow for 275/65R20 tires on my stock rims. Was thinking about a ready lift 3 inch in front with 2 inch in rear because I still want some rake. After reading, lots of people saying don't go with spacers cause it will cause problems with joint and control arms ect stuff I really am a novice to. I would like some advice on to either going with a spacer kit like ready lift or something else. My goal is to keep price under around 500 and not have to mess with too much rubbing, wearing/failing of joints and arms. I'd also like to keep my ride comfort similar to stock.

 

I'm actually in the middle of trying to figure out what tires to put on those same rims to make it look a bit more aggressive without having to do a lift kit since I have a lease, I have the 2020 SR5 TRD Pro package. I read in some other threads that we can go as wide as 295/55/R20 without having to use spacers or a lift which seems like a nice looking tire. I may do spacers due to personal preference. 1.25 all around but that's just for cosmetics on a nicer looking stance.

 

I'm running 275/65r20 on Enkei ST6 (which has a +30mm offset) on Bilstein 5100s at the top setting with no rubbing.

Does anyone know what tire size I can run on 22’s on stock trd sport suspension without rubbing and offset?

 

It will depend on what offset you want. I'm running 305/40/22, no rubbing at all.

 

Hello there...

What I'm gonna say sounds crazy even to myself, but I need to match snow crawling capabilities of bought-new 2019 SR5 TRD Offroad with my beaten yet trusty 2005 Volvo XC70 =) While crushing through bushes is what Tundra does light years ahead of XC70, at winters I'm struggling with its ever sinking front end. in places where Volvo has never had any problems, I end up shoveling Tundra out of the pit all the time. Worse: Tundra is always aired down, while Volvo is usually not.

So I need a wider and taller tire that can be aired down even further than I usually do. Was aiming at more aggressive AT or HT tires on Icon Rebound 17" w/ +25 mm offset when it came to my attention that my Tundra might have a "bigger brakes". The questions are:

- Do those Icons fit my Tundra?
- What max size tires can I mount on those rims w/o doing extensive trimming AND w/o a lift?

I do plan to upgrade suspension to something like Icon stage 5-..., but that probably would only happen for the next-next winter season. Need something that will serve me ~1.5 years with fully stock suspension.

Oh, I also have a cheap Tyger flares... They ate about 3/16 of clearance, I'd guess.

Those Icon wheels should fit. They’re specifically designed to fit over our Tundras’ big brakes. I’ve been running those same wheels for over two years now on 285/75/17 Cooper Discoverer XLT AT3s with 2” of lift up front. Slightly smaller, 285/70/17 sized tires should fit with no lift and minimal wheel-well plastic trimming, though.

I have same truck 100% stock on 275/65/20 ko2’s. No issues at all

 

Currently have the bilstein 5100 shocks at the middle setting no spacers, really like the look. Still has a slight rake up front. Here is the side profile.

 

2016 1794 CM 4X4 converted to TRD Pro, plus 1" BORA wheels spacers, 1.5" rear shackles, and 0.25 CB spacers up front. 295/70 R18 Cooper Discoverer XLT AT3 tires.

 

Looks great man! I plan on going with 5100's on the middle setting as well. Assuming no problems with fitment (rubbing/trimming)? How is your MPG doing compared to stock tires?

 

No rubbing at all with all mud flaps still attached. I lost about 1.5 mpg with the level and tires.

 

Did you do 5100's in the rear as well? Trying to decide if I want to do front and rears or just the fronts. I'm leaning towards front/rear.

 

I did front and rear. They ride very similar to the bilstein 4600 shocks that came on the truck. It helps that they are only on the middle setting too.

 

Ok, that's almost stock size. Though with 17" rims I can air down a bit more. Hmm...

33x12.5 r20 gladiator x comp mt, with 20x9 vision rocker +12offset fit nicely minor rub easily fixable.

 

What's the consensus on running 35" tires on a 4.6l? Doable with slight power loss or is it going to be a dog? Don't do a lot of off-roading, but I do drive a little spirited on road at times.

I have Bilstein 5160's on highest setting up front with just an extra leaf in the rear. With Icon 6 speed 17" +25mm offset, will I have a problem running 35's?

Thinking about putting a spacer on top of the 5160's to get closer to the 3" lift I had in the front.

I love the look of the 17's but should have done a little more research on available sizes as I really want to run 34" m/t tires in the summer but not much out there for good looking m/t tires for 17" rims.

 

The gladiator x comps mts 35x12.5 actually run 34inch, And they look meaty. To be honest I hear them, I mean they hum. But not bad, I actually like the noise.

 

I've run the Cooper STT Pro's the last few summers and they're kinda noisy and get worse as they wear. I don't mind much, but passengers find it annoying.

 

Regarding road noise... While my truck was a few weeks old, I sprayed the frame with Noxudol UM-1600 to fight future rust (in around Boston the officials think 1:1 snow:salt mix is perfect, just add lime and Tequila). As a side effect the noise level dropped to below noise in my Volvo, which is pretty good at canceling unwanted sounds. I had to spray wheel wells in Volvo and replace all 4 door glasses with thicker laminated glasses (double layered). It was that annoying difference with the Tundra.

 

How many miles do you think you'll get out of them and any problems balancing them?
