It "should" be .5" lower lift height on the bottom clip

Man, I'm starting to think I need to just send this back... I'm on 5100s in the front and completely stock in the rear. I don't want to have to deal with all these issues after install! Is there anyone with the ims and 778s and getting less that 3"lift?

Me. I'm at 2.75" after about 1k miles of driving although my alignment is still off. I'm going in tomorrow and will let you know if the height changes at all

yes. And the 780s did not settle more than 1/4 inch, and that was after 800 miles and 3 weeks of driving.

What setting were u again? I don't have any toyo lean so I was thinking of going middle setting on both sides. I can't afford to install and remove so I'm seriously thinking of sending them back... @crikeymike

So possibly 3" lift if both on 2nd clip?

So you're at 2.75 with the passenger actually at what should be 2 inches of lift?

I'd say yes it's possible. It's is very weird how everyone is getting different measurements with the same setups. Total disclosure from my install if you didn't get a chance to read it. The front shocks have very limited down travel but ride fairly nice. The rears are stiff even with a couple hundred pounds

Yes I'm definitely much higher than what Dobinsons advertised for lift height but still not as extreme as your situation. The limited down travel in the front and stiff rear shocks are my biggest complaints right now. I'm still on the fence if I want to keep these especially if no reputable shock tuner will revalve them

I hear you on that for sure. I have pretty much no down travel, and that was even with my 780s I had on for 3 weeks prior to these 778s. Mike is dead wrong about them sending me the wrong coils too, as now the 780s are off.. and guess what, they're 780s.

Without being too extreme, Dobinson's products, specifically the IMS stuff, and leaf springs, need a lot more R&D time, and I will be returning everything.

If you’re getting 2.75 on the bottom clip that means the coils are nearly an inch higher then what they should be. I really don’t think dobinson’s ever got a tundra to test their products on.

Yes. For as much as people rave about the other Dobinsons product I figured this would be a win. So either everyone with Dobinsons doesn't know what a properly tuned suspension feels like or these Tundra products missed the boat in testing

Remind me, have you posted any photos yet? I'd like to see what all this looks like exactly, since your results seem to be an outlier.

Mine is about 10 3/8”, so if you on the second clip that could account for the difference. Only thing I can imagine is they assembled with the wrong spring :monocle:. Can you read the label on the spring?

These were the before and after measurements.

Before: Bilstein 6112 top setting and 5160 rear with stock leafs

After: IMS front on 3rd setting with heavy coils. IMS with HD leafs in the rear.

It still has a taco lean after 1 shim on the passanger.

I think you meant to say one shim on the driver side, but given those numbers you are at 4.75 inches of lift as well.

Yes, I meant the driver. Waiting for my coffee to kick in lol.

Dobinson informed me about the height before the purchase and they said it should go back down to the advertised 3" when my winch and steel bumper is inatalled.

I had to run a front shim driver side and rear toytec shim driver side to get leveled side to side.

I took the lab off but I did confirm the correct part number before putting them together. Yes that height difference is a concern. From what you measured it appears the IMS bottom clip is equal to the regular twin tubes spring mount which would explain why everyone with IMS is higher with the same springs

It seems crazy that 200lb would drop the lift so much. That's equal to me standing on my stock bumper. Which I actually just tried for the hell of it. My suspension barely moved...

Also just checked and I have the C59-610 2.25”, LOL. I originally had the C59-578 3” lift and had all kinds of issues. Those were the only two options available a year ago. Some pics of the two for comparison.

Dang, so should I use the bottom setting with the ims, 778 coils and my uca's? I'm not trying to have over 3 inches of lift... the 778 could should only be@2.5" of lift, so prolly 3"on its own, lol

    You should return everything lol.

these are the 778s on 2nd clip— should give 2.5 inches of lift.

finally got my wife to hold the camera while I measure.

Are you located in Rancho or Austin right now? I was going to say if you are in Rancho maybe we could meet up and you can check out my trucks ride height/firmness before you bite the bullet.

Are you using the dobinsons leafs? I won't be, just doing a 1.5" add a leaf with the ims rear shocks. Also have a bedrack and rtt. I'm in Austin now miss Cali since all the good truck shops are there!
