The gloved mangler. Going bareback you could feel in the air that a bolt was gonna go bye bye before its disappearance, and avoid it altogether.

Naw, You do you man. Looks like you're doing well so far. Cheers.

Oh, I see now. You're only doing one fuel rail at a time? My 5VZ-FE had both fuel rails exposed once I had the plenum (Intake manifold) off. I did both sides at once. I'll go get my phone, and upload pictures.

If I knew what a plenum was... yeah man Post it cause I feel people need more info on fuel injectors. I changed my entire suspension via YouTube and you all and yet fuel injectors are still a mystery

    See above.

Are you pulling a FGV, and skimming?

My engine, and your engine are completely different. Here are pictures.

    Unashamed post of hood lights.
    20200712_201951.jpg
    Old "red" injectors still installed.
    20200712_212844.jpg
New "pink" injectors installed in the back ground.

At the end of the fuel rail there's a metal "crossover" pipe that connects both fuel rails. I was able to take the bolts out of the fuel rail, and lift it up as a single piece. That's how I changed all 6 of mine at once. It's that tube on the left hand side of 2nd picture up from this line.
    20200712_212007.jpg

The injectors job is what made me realize I needed hood lights because look at that. That's midnight in the woods with coyotes howling all over. Lol

Yes. I said that more than once. The tequila must be in your frontal lobe right now.

Covid did a # on me lol. I never used to drink. Also, amazing tequila. I keep a buzz, don’t get wasted and wake up without a hangover so there’s that. I get more wasted off IPAs

Im just so happy to have completed 1 side. To those like myself, it’s doable... I was wrong, you can manage if you avoid my mistakes and take extra precautions. I’ll post the other side over weekend.

You did mean hook right? Loosening the engine mount would be a bitch just to pull the fuel rail although I have seen quite a few engines that look like they need to be pulled just to get to the spark plugs.

Man I missed all the fun last night. Got a good nights sleep on my New 1200 Count Luxury Egyptian Sheets from Alabama Cotton.

Sounds like one side got accomplished and she started up which is good. Part Deux tonight?

    Couple of refreshers:

    1) Banjo Bolts have washers and they are sneaky. Account for each one as you take off and install.

    2) Account for all your Injector Rings as they dry and get stuck. Inspect!

    3) Clean and blow the engine off before job really well as sand/grit accumulates in this tight area and will ruin your day. Compressed air, plastic bristle brush, more blowings, rag wipe, etc.

    4) Hand Yoga helps prior to this job. I’ve been considering starting an Online Class for anyone that is interested. We’ll lightly discuss Wurrld Peas and Eating Healthy.

    5) The Drivers side is harder, but now you know what to expect so it should be easy. Only reason its harder is all the hoses etc to put back and it is a little tighter around the rail. Don’t be scared to move stuff around if need be but ACCOUNT for everything.

    6) You’ll need a 22mm open box wrench to remove ‘Pulsator’. Tight Hand Moves on this removal. A short throw box wrench is best.

Man this was a wild ride from start to finish. @Voss 1) stop being so hard on yourself 2) stop panicking, you did fine 3) maybe ease up on the handle of Tequila during the install. If anything did you in, it was that.

    This definitely.

These guys know how hard I used to be towards myself. I just choose not to voice it any more. Self loathe The corona event is a weird time. Things get better, and life goes on. It causes undue stress. It did to me.

Finished with chores around the house and finally started on the driver side. Not playing around this time, I took off everything I thought would be in my way and preemptively hammer the engine hook back a bit.

This hose seems like it needs to be replaced. Anyone know what this hose is for so I know what to ask for?

    264E333D-F296-4BD2-A5E4-89C7C53BA7B4.jpg

I think I should replace the wiring that goes from ignition coils to the fuel injectors... the outer plastic covers fell apart. Not the wire cover but the cover that goes over the wires as a whole.

My plastic wire loom "box" fell apart too. I spoke with @empty_lord who said it was fine.

The picture above with my hand in it shows my wiring loom "box."

haven’t driven cause I’ve had a few but my engine sounds like it’s running better. Sounds stronger!

Tomorrow I’m hoping to change my Valve cover gaskets and install the new ignition coils/spark plugs. This is going to be a productive weekend if I get that done.
