Thanks a ton. After about 3 hours of scrubbing, washing and a whole bottle of Meguiar's Iron Removing Spray Clay. A large amount of the noticeable stains are gone. Ordered up a bottle of IronX and try to get as much out as I can, before polishing/sealing. Looks noticeably cleaner and smoother. Still got a long way to go....Huge thanks too all you guys for the advice.

I’m going to get Carpro Reset, and Griots. Is Griots considered a sealant or do I need 3 products? Soap (carpro), Sealant (brand?), wax (griots)? Appreciate your thread @War Machine and help @Swfltoyomafia

The Griots 3-in-1 would be all you need. It’s a sealant.

You’ll love Reset. Just pay attention to the dilution ratios. It’s expensive, so you don’t want to waste any. It will go a long way if diluted properly.

Does Reset work in a foam cannon? I couldn’t really tell from their website.

I bought a MAATC snow blower for a starter unit. The unit seems well built enough, but not much in the “how to use” department. Now I just need a few days of no rain to experiment with it. We are in a pattern of rain every few day right now in my area.

I'm sure someone else with more knowledge will chime in but I don't think the white trucks were clear coated back then.

Didn't Toyota have 2 whites...one single stage and one clearcoated?

I really don't know. My kids 1st Gen Tacoma was single stage. I think I've read the white Tundras were single stage too. I'm definitely no expert.

Someone in the know will let us know.

Just realized that the 5" pads I got with my backing plate conversion are all griots! After my bitching about soaking up compound. Haven't tried HDO hex logic. Just regular lake country. Where should I go with 5 "? I must have been half in the tank when I ordered the pads

Apparently it is single stage... Guess ill just try to clean it as much as possible and seal it. Granted, it looks better now that it ever has since I bought it. The haze on the cab was significant, compared to the bed.

I'm not familiar with HDO hex logic pads. The only hex logic pads that I know of are sold by Chemical Guys....can you send me a link to what you're referring to? For what it's worth...the CG Hex Logic Quantums are good pads. If you don't want the pads, you can return the kit and just order the backing plate by itself:

Pretty simple to use....I typically go with a 10:1 ratio (water to soap).....add 20oz of warm water and then add 2 oz of soap.....mix thoroughly.....attach to pressure washer....keep calm and foam on

knob on top controls the thickness of the foam.....twisting the nozzle will adjust the fan width of the foam

Yeah, we’re in that rain plus pollen time of year. Everything is just a mess. Three weeks ago we’re freezing, now there’s pollen everywhere. Saw this the other day. You’d probably appreciate it:

    1A2A0385-FACE-434E-9A80-BF8C4C785B22.jpg

As for the MATCC cannon, it is a bit confusing at first. Main thing that’s weird is you want to move the dial to the “negative” side to get more foam. It’s counterintuitive to say the least. Solid product though. I’ve had mine for several years with no issues. I’ll never recommend an expensive one.

Also, use warm water in the mixture. Works way better that way.

Though I haven’t done as much correction as these other guys, I’ve seen the best results with Griots Boss and Uro-Fiber pads.

I think some of the CG soap worked better but I still had good results with reset but I don’t use a cannon that often.

I only use it as a pre-wash on a really filthy vehicle. CG Honeydew Snow Foam is my favorite when I use it.

Lol. My mistake, I was apparently thought they were the same pad from my readings/ skimming on here. I see the difference now. I'll probably order the hex or lake country that I have in 6". Seems the HDO are designed for long stroke.

I think it works well.......keeping it in perspective.....I do not have high expectations with my SunJoe either. Trying to get an Active VE52 pressure washer.....specs are 1800 PSI/2.0 GPM....and its actually pretty close to that.

Ok detailer came out today. Looking at the exterior he suggest paint correcting on the Front and top, single stage on the rest. For 1 coat of ceramic (lasts 6 months) I'm at 550. Full detail on interior and engine adds another 200. If I want the lifetime ceramic which is 4 more coats we're looking at close to 1300 and again 200 for interior and engine. Price seems right, he said It would take him about 6.5 hours for exterior alone.

His price is for Ceramic Pro Sport.....which is a spray ceramic coating. On the up side, once you get it corrected, you can easily do that yourself. What did he think about the pieces under the headlights? There are a ton of spay products out there, like Griot Garage 3 in 1 Ceramic Spray Wax, that will give you 6 months of protection. That package for 550 is not unreasonable.

He was concerned about one. He said he has a pad that might be able to bring it back. The other one wasn't as bad and he said he can get it pretty close to perfect. With the sport package they recommend getting it done every 6 months. But if I'm happy with everything and want to step up to the lifetime package I would just be paying for the ceramic and a wash, the paint correction will hold unless I wait longer then 6 months. He also scared me by showing me a vehicle that he had to remove the ceramic coating from because the last guy put it on wrong. It looked horrible.

To me....once you get the correction done......you should be comfortable with DIY products after that. Did he say what the price would be in 6 months when all they are doing is a wash. clay and re-application of the Ceramic Pro Sport?

He did not but I assume it will only go down slightly, he wanted to make me a repeat customer so he charged me for the wash and sport coat ceramic and only for 1 hour of paint correction but he will be spending longer on it and doing touch ups all over the vehicle. I assume the repeat will be just the 440. Also once I've had a job done they will come out and do touchups as I need them for cheap he said engine would be 30, seats like 35-45 depending on if there were any stains he had to work on. If I run something over and need the paint redone they would also work with me on that. Also if I decide to go with the lifetime I would have to have them come and inspect the vehicle every year and If someone else has cleaned the truck and ruined the coating they are not liable, basically I have to use them for all cleaning from then on.

So do I interpret that to say that you then use Reset when you hand wash?
BTW: The comment above a Cool 70 or warm 70 was spot on.

I understand his position. A friend of mine had a local shop do a full correction and coating, and I offered to do his maintenance washes.....my friend said the installer said something similar to him. Who will be doing the maintenance washes during that 6-month period? My truck would likely get washed 12 times during that span. If I were going for his top of the line package, I might consider their follow-on services. For their 6 month package, I'd get that done and then take it over myself....but thats just me. My truck is not perfect, (I'd give the paint condition a solid 'B') but I find taking care of it very therapeutic.

You are at a crossroads, sir.
