Looking for 1G Front Suspension Recommendations - Access Cab w/ Winch Bumper

Hi All,
For the past year, I have been running the OME lift kit and diff drop comprising of 2885 springs and 90004 nitrocharger struts in the front with oem UCAs.

I have a BFF plate bumper with winch hanging off the front. In the engine bay is an extra battery and an ARB single compressor.

Even with all this added weight, I am still getting aprox. 2" inches of front lift. (Like a fool, I did not take before and after measurements.

I am not happy with the ride quality. Driving over a gravel or dirt road is extremely harsh.
In addition, I have a driveline vibration I have not been able to diagnose.

Have any other 1G access cab owners had great luck with other lift options? I would even be happy with less lift as I plan on keeping my 32" tires for the foreseeable future.
I don't want to spend much money, but I do want to improve the ride quality.

I've been really happy so far with my ADS coilovers. I woult say adjustable coilovers are going to be the best bang for your buck and give you ability to dial in any lean and have it nice and level. Plenty of good CO options that others can chime in with or has been posted already.

 

Looking at the ARB specification chart it looks lke 2882 might be your best bet if you want to soften the ride...and it will likely lower it a bit (even though they are the same height, they are softer 500 vs 590lbs) with a bit more sag...but if I was you I would call Wheeler's and ask them based on what you have now. They were very helpful to me...and they have some of their own springs that might be ideal

OP says he doesn't want to spend much money. That might be tough to do.

 

Billys 5100 at one notch up. Remove BF bumper and reinstall Original Sweet Chrome Bumper from Circa 00-02.

I think my best bet cost-wise is going to be trying another coil spring from OME.

 

I really like my radflo coilovers. The extended length 2.5in ones were 1300 I believe so if you went with the regular 2in ones it would be cheaper probably about 1000.

 

Even if you go with 2884 or 2883 springs, they are the same spring rate. Just different lengths.

You'd see more difference in ride quality with better shocks.

 

Would a Bilstein 5100 be better?

 

I would go with a Toytec coilover I also have a BFF bumper (low pro hoop tho) and a warn 10k winch. Since they are regressive all that extra weight doesn't make it slosh around and the 700 lbs should probably suit your needs. I run these But at the same price I would go for their new fancy ones. They do recommend UCA's but if you already have them or if your not really looking for lift and them with little preload I think you'll be fine. I'm up two inch's and my ball joints have been ok so far but I do plan on getting different ones soon. Also, we may get a discount with them since they are listed as a vendor so you may have money left over for a lift block in the back if need be. They also have killer customer service. Bit hard to reach because I think theres only one or two people in the office, but when you get a hold of them they crush it.

 

I went with Radflo and 700 lb Eibach springs, also did SPC upca. Running BFF bumper with full front hoop and 10k warn with synthetic rope.. Radflo are pricey, but pay once cry once,and they are rebuildable. So far happy with set up. does not ride stiff in my opinion. Hope this helps.

 

my ome 2885 springs are sagging with my tacoma arb bumper and harbor frieght winch and group 31 battery i just ordered new ome 2886 springs hopefully i will be able to have my truck squat again

 

Mine never sagged. You might have received the old style of 2885 which were redesigned by OME to prevent sagging.

Does anyone here have experience with ADS? Also get your orders in now. The universal basic income check sounds like it will be here shortly. It will cause fun stuff to disappear from shelves again for the next few months.

I believe they might. They at least do remote reservoirs.

Checked my lift measurements this morning.

DF: 91.9cm , DR: 98.2cm
PF: 95.5cm , PR: 96.3 cm

I think I blew a front nitrocharger shock. Checked my maintenance log, I actually have almost 30k on them.
