Paint Matched Grill Surround

So you purchased the entire black TRD grill/outer layer that takes the chrome away and hood buldge but left the stock grill? Hope I have that right

 

just did this last night. Removed painted surround from the TRd pro grille and swapped it with the honeycomb to keep everything groovy with the sensor. Took about two hours taking my time and watching Monday night football. What a shitty game lol

No. All MGM. Hard to tell in the photo above but the grill insert is MGM also.
The original chrome surround, black grill, and chrome bulge, are in a box in the garage.

Just swap it cause if you get it from Toyota, you will have to buy it all anyway.

I bought mine through Romans Dealership which is a Toyota Dealer. There is a discount code on that thread that saves you a few bucks.

Hi I'm new to this forum , I'm wanting to remove some of the Crome of the front of my truck also . Thinking of switching to a TRD grill , but these grills are really flimsy plastic and vary expensive for what you get . So I'm considering aftermarket grill nothing to outrageous . Also looked at a lot of winch bumpers , found one I like that's down to earth . I'm in my 60's did all that crazy stuff when I was younger . Here is the winch bumper that I found after playing on the internet for about a day . the Blue one is mine

 

Your truck looks lifted, any issues with the TSS since the lift ?

 

mine is lifted also, 3/1.25 and no issues with the TSS.

 

No issues whatsoever with the 3"/1" lift. I think those who level or get the front higher than the rear have the higher chance of TSS issues.

 

Looks good, I'm thinking of going 1.5" in rear instead of the 1" I have.

 

Ni e, thanks. The sport grille is the next order to replace the chrome and the. hopefully some 6112s when they come in stock.

 

I have the 6112/5160 combo and really like them.

 

Yea I’ve been back and forth between and a few kinds and it seems for my goals those fit the bill the best. Of course I finally made a decision and they’re out of stock everywhere lol

 

Thanks! I have about 1” of forward rake which allows for towing but the truck looks “level” for the most part

This looks really good. I've a MGM as well.

It's kind of frustrating that I'd have to buy the whole grille when I like how the dark colored honeycomb looks, I just need/want the paint matched hood bulge + surround

 

Stumbled upon this thread earlier. Did you already find these to color match because we carry them on Chrome Stoppers. They're OEM color-matched and made in the USA! The entire kit is also only $325

 

Sorry for reviving an old thread, if you are around, will these part numbers fit on a 2017?

 

Yes they will. 2014-2021 all have the same front pieces. The hood bulge and surround are the same, the grille insert varies and you have to match the sensor cover emblem with the grille since there are a few different clip and fastener orientations. Or if you like your grille insert and emblem, you can swap which surround its in.

 

Do you know what emblem matches? I don’t have any sensors

Finally got my paint match grill setup done.

 

Who did you end up buying your parts from?

 

Ordered the grill and bugle through sparks. They took about a little over a month to get. And I found a used emblem on eBay.
