I have a surprisingly low amount of rub, with the 1-inch leveling kit and the Spidertrax 1.25in wheel spacers I have no issue when it comes to daily driving, turning at full lock, etc. I needed spacers to clear the UCA's. The most offroading I see are really just rutted gravel roads, but on any trail, I will definitely rub the front bumper I imagine, but not the body mount or backside of the wheel well.

Really appreciate it man! If only they came out with 33's from the factory. And wheel spacers can be great for longevity, but if you have massive wheel spacers from a lesser quality brand you will run into issues. I live and die with Spidertrax, they're an amazing brand. I had an FJ equipped with the same spacers that lived on the trails pretty much, the spacers never faltered. Keep in mind however that adding wheel spacers brings the wheel out of the area it was designed to stay in, so you might run into issues with the fenders.

Thanks for the info! I’m really feeling like I could use an alignment. Truck drive very straight but only rubs when turning right (on the uca passenger side and the frame drivers side). That is why I was thinking about spacers. Seems like tundras in general are hard to fit bigger tires on.

I feel like In the long run, the best route would be a wheel with a better backspacing. But I feel like that would result in the same issue with spacers because I think they’d do the same thing.

Edit: wait, turning left. Not right

Here's mine. I bought this 05' last summer. I've had a few pickups/Tacoma's but this is my first Tundra. Picked up a camper shell for it a month or two ago. Planning on some visual/creature comfort changes. I hope to slowly turn this into my weekend camper that's set up for a quick departure and reliable once out of town. So far so good.

Green is the best. I don't know why it is not more popular today. I would have gladly paid more to not have a "cargo van white" truck.

It's not more popular today because fully 90% of cars from the 90s had it....or at least it seemed that way (Probably more like 25%) and people got tired of it. Kinda like Silver in the 2000s. The 90s are quite awhile ago at this point...it will probably come back around in the next 10 years.

I guess I think green should be a standard all the time like red white and black. I would put your blue in that same category. I would assume that colors are chosen to be as unoffensive to as many people as possible.

While I admit to being old I hope they bring back the 2 tone too:

I'm partial to green too...I had a 3rd Gen 4Runner that color...I prefer it to the desert dune metallic one I have now for sure.

Here is the progress of my Raptor Liner paint job! Coming along nicely! Decided on going back to black on the side mirrors. Was trying out the red, but didn't care for it.

Just checkin in, I'm not real big on the whole introduction thread but I figured I'd at least show off my new (to me) Tundra. 06 DC 2WD, I probably paid to much for it but she's only got 85k miles and absolutely no rust. So I figure buy it low and spread that cost out.

Now back to my regularly scheduled searching...

Oh I found his thread last week. Thankfully though I've got a shit-box Miata that I have no reservations about hacking up if I need to scratch that itch. Of course I say that now but my wishlist of aftermarket parts is already growing.

I paid $14.5k, like I said I probably overpaid (most likely overpaid) but equivalent examples with 100k miles more were selling locally for $2-$3k less than that (at least the clean DC's were). Couple that with the fact I'd been looking for a few months, my future employment appears to be relegated to 95% work from home, and my goal is to keep this till I see a the 300k mark; it felt like a risk I was willing to take. Plus I knew if I walked away from this one, the next person that saw it would drive it home.

That's actually a little reassuring to hear. I'm in the South so everyone wants a truck or an SUV. Shoot, there's an 05 listed currently for $9k with 241k on the clock...

Ultimately it doesn't really matter, it's mine now and I'm elated with it. Not like I have any plans to abandon it anytime soon.
