I did a thing....this may slow any updates on the Tundra....but if I did the GX460 brake upgrade, I could put my Tundra brakes on this....:D

Weird, I'm looking at it on my PC and it works fine...but not on my phone, let me see if this works...I bought it to teach my daughter how to drive a stick...the lift is a bit much, but I can fix that.... :)

@speedtre That's awesome! Always loved the 3rd gens. Give us some details. I imagine a manual trans is pretty hard to find?

Damn near impossible...people don't get rid of them, so a 5sp is $2-3K+ than an equivalent AT. It's an SR5 but has every option the Limited's had except fog-lights, leather interior and Auto climate control that brakes and is expensive. Everything works, it just needs a good clean and its due a timing belt/water pump.

    2000 4Runner
    186K miles
    5sp,
    rear diff-locker
Toytec 3 inch lift with LC80 rear springs
    LC80 forged alloy rims
Pioneer AVH-2300NEX HU with AMP and speakers
    Backup Camera
    New Alternator

I wish you lived closer. I'm one of those weird guys that actually enjoys detailing a vehicle that's dirty. As for the lift, I don't think it looks bad at all. If anything, it could use some bigger tires. That's low miles for a 20 year old vehicle. Good find. :fistbump:

In that case, I wish you lived closer too....you could do my Tundra as well!

The tires are 285/75/16s....I want to put some 255/85/16 (keeping the forged LC80 rims) or 255/80r17s (I'm contemplating putting the rims/tires on my Tundra on this and getting some bronze F5s for the Tundra). The 255s are the same height, but I agree, the lift is too tall for the tires (at least in the rear). I'm leaning towards lowering the Toyotec coilovers in the front a bit (the are adjustable) and putting some 1 inch shorter OME springs in the rear. Then I think it would sit perfect.

@speedtre thats a sweet 4runner. Good plan to bring it down a bit. I wouldn't put bronze f5's on your truck though, I personally think your truck would look better with teflon black KMC Enduro wheels. When you buy the F5s and realize you've made a mistake I'll be ready to help you out with a trade.

Speaking of old 4Runners, I'm obsessed with this guy's 1st Gen. If I ever got a chance to own one like this I would.

I’ve owned a few of them in my life. I never did take the top off them. I’ve been looking for an 85-89 sr5 5spd EFI but the ones I find they want $10-15k for and have 200-300k miles on them. Or they are beat the hell up and still want $5-10k for them. I found an 85 in Seattle that was nice but the guy was asking $12k for it so I never moved on it. I would have been closer to $9k at the time.

I came across a 1992 4WD V6 5 spd extra cab Toyota pick up in good shape for it's age the other day, are they desirable?

Yes, but even more desirable if it had the 22Re.

Terrible engine. But still nice.. a 5vz swap is trivial in the 3vz pickups

Like others said if it was a 22re 5spd it would be desirable. I see the 3.0L autos and 5spds all the time just sit for sale unless they are priced low enough.
3.0L are a pain to work on and are slugs for a V6.

Thank you for confirming what I thought I had read some time ago... it's good to know the engine swap is easy.

I've shared this before but my first vehicle, which started my love affair with Toyota SUVS and trucks was a 91 4Runner. That 3.0l is indeed a "terrible engine". I loved the truck but that engine was so pitiful.

SPC UCAs help too, because you can adjust the caster. And threaded coilovers so you can get the height perfect. I didn't do any welding.... Yet. If I can't find a 1" to 1.5" body lift like coastal offroad claims exists (or used to?), then I'll be tubbing for 35's in the future.
