I’m curious whether you get the 170 degree view as advertised or if it’s more like 120-130 degrees instead.

What color is the accessory wire? There's only enough wire to connect to somewhere around the rear. Is there an accessory wire near the tailgate?

I got the head unit pre-wired from Crutchfield and it came with a trigger wire from the head unit for the reverse wire. I thought I had it connected correctly, but just read something about the crutchfield wiring being wrong. I went to the Red/black wire in the driver-side kick panel (gray plug) and another post said that is wrong.

You may be able to pull it from your trailer wiring.

Had a heat wave begin today, probably hit 35F. Did some clean up shoveling to get back the edges of the driveway, dug out the spare parking space, replaced the awful auto dim mirror in the car with a manual mirror courtesy of someone on Tacoma World. Since all was going so well, gave the Tundra a sponge bath. Sadly it was by bucket to only the shiny side. Exterior hose spigots are a taxable convenience in this town, so hose spigot is in the basement. Basement door is buried under 2' or so of snow, so no hose to wash the under carriage - but rain the next two days, so I'll aim for the puddles. :eek2:

My head unit had a short trigger wire (purple). My RCA from the camera also had a 6" or so trigger wire on each end (red wires in the picture above). The head unit end of the wire attached to the trigger wire on the head unit. The camera end of the RCA connected into the power wire which was spliced into my reverse light.

PHM will come up with some sort of World Peas joke but in reality it’s sea turtle hatching season along the gulf coast. This storm was a dick and made the water too cold for them to survive until they caught a current.

Drove back to Iowa. And back. Fast trip. Stopped to fill up with gas at one point and had a fun moment. Found this guy hangin out.

Didn’t have anything to hold assembly. Still had 500 miles left to get home. Was just barely staying ahead of weather front. So, used some electric tape to secure the harness and bulbs back inside the body and wrapped the connections a bit.

Yeah. There was this one Island I visited down in the Tropics a while back. We ended up friending with a local guy that lived across the street from our house (we both had no running water or electricity). We used an Outhouse for the obvious as did the entire street.

Anyway, this local was an expert spear fisherman. We went out with him and he speared Grouper and a Sea Turtle which we ate that night. Those pics remind me of the Flipper Meat floating next to the Organic Island Veggies grown by the spear fishermans dad.

I have a Carbon Offset story about saving Two Whales which I’ll bring up another time. True stories.

How much lift did you get from the Kings? What are you running for the rear shocks with your kings up front? Im thinking about getting Kings up front as well. Not sure what to use in the rear though

According to TX Wildlife, they were lathargic from the cold and washed to wherever the current takes them. Thus, they were getting beat up on rocks etc on shore. So we collected them and they sent them to sanctuaries to try and rehab the ones still alive.

Very cool of you. I saw a few sea turtles once in the ocean and it was like seeing a dinosaur. They've been a favorite animal of mine since I was a child.

Yeah. Being out in large surf and having a VW Sized Turtle surface next to you sure gets the taint all up in a quiver. Especially when they smell the prior nights Turtle Soup Mojo sweating out the pores.

Same here. I really enjoyed watching them get released from our resort in Cabo last year. The staff said that only 1/1000 make it to adulthood. They don't have an easy life.

I remember being a kid and watching their eggs hatch on some nature documentaries and being mad at the film crew when they didn't prevent birds from eating the turtles. Can't stop nature unfortunately.

The ones I saw in person were in Maui. One was maybe the size of a large pizza and the other was at least 3 feet front to back. I kept swimming near them to watch them and found myself uncomfortably far from the shore.

Ordered parts on Friday night and Wheelers shipped this AM. Guess the 5100s for my rear aren't in the "hard to come by" category. Plan to get this all installed sometime in March when weather is decent.

Unfortunately I don't have my stock measurements from when I bought the truck. I did have a small lift of around 3/4" (but not exactly sure) which put me at 21.5", and I am now at 23 1/8" so Its between 2"-2.25" probably. Didn't adjust them at all, so that's out of the box.

As for rears, I have some custom kings that were made for me. I originally was going to go with Icon rears, but a buddy hooked me up with rear kings.
