Energy Suspension would be where I'd look, if you haven't already. Delrin bushings might be interesting too, that stuff is hard.

Well, I swapped my 20” wheels with 18” snows for the winter... no change in bed bounce at all. Doubt the RSW will make a difference. I get it pretty bad on one long stretch of concret on the way to work.

so do you have the RSB installed? Does it make the ride rougher in general?

I have no trd sway bar and won't have either. However, I have the yellow sumo springs on the truck and body roll is history! Plus that If I want to off road, just pull out the hi-lift, raise a little and unscrew the sumo springs. Key is to have second set cut down to screw on for bump stops. Full factory articulation in minutes. Plus the leaf springs will suffer much less wear and will likely never be flattened much over time. She corners like a Porsche and can haul a ton with minimal squat.

Energy Suspension and Prothane were the first places I checked but neither list anything for our Tundras.

It may be necessary to call them. There's a remote possibility that they might have something for another application that would be appropriate.

I had a similar question on another thread. It is my understanding that bed bounce is caused by frame flexing and the RSB will have little to no effect. I should add that I don’t have issues with bed bounce myself and the RSB only improved handling and I feel no difference in ride.

Better shocks will help with bounce. If you are really picky, a Lexus is another option.

ok cool that was another question I had....my ride, mainly in the rear is still a little stiff even with the shackles and upgraded shocks so I definitely don’t want that to be worse if I go with the RSB.

I got it yesterday (they shipped it quick!) and painted the brackets. Took my time putting it on and spent maybe an hour. Having it up on ramps made it comfortable to do, but wasn’t absolutely necessary.

having everything fluid filmed probably helped, as the old frame bolts came off without any trouble.

    More than a few.....
A cheap mod I did in my 2002 long bed ranger was putting 4 30 lb dumbbells on the inside of the rear bumper cavities. It really helped with the bed bounce. Not sure if it would work with tundy's though.

Dang on, give it up to McGeorge!! Package came quick and really well boxed together. Five stars for McGeorge beating the price of the damn dealer 5 feet from my house. All pieces appear as they should. Got a date with the truck and garage on Saturday. Boom.

You know, not that I’ve had mine on for a couple weeks, I’m sort of amazed that Toyota didn’t put these in as standard equipment...and a little disappointed in them for not doing so. Even consumer reports complained about the feel of the ride, and this completely solves all my complaints. What a difference this makes in the handling.

The truck rolled a LOT... not just on serious curves but in any slight curve. At speed it was enough to make me slow down (unnaturally to me, anyhow) much more so than when I had my Titan.
When towing my camper, I really felt it... to the point where I was white knuckling it in turns. Even when not in turns, the truck feels MUCH more planted...it’s hard to describe, but I’m not imagining it, even my wife commented on it.

it should have been my first mod.

Like I said, it’s hard to quantify, but outside of the rolls in any maneuver being gone, it’s a big difference in feeling “planted”. It didn’t stop “bed bounce” on one road that causes it for me, but it didn’t make it worse either.

But that feeling planted translates to a lot more confidence on the road. We don’t have many rough roads nearby, so haven’t tried that yet, but the truck definitely behaves much more predictably.

Cool, thank you! I am tryin to address the bed bounce as well and was hoping this would help but sounds like a useful mod none the less for how I drive it. Appreciate it

Bed bounce... I think it’s the harmonics of the truck... I’ve thought about some stiff foam being placed between the cab and truck bed as a dampener ...

worth a try I guess....I hit a stretch of road the other day that is otherwise smooth in a car but I thought I was going to bounce off the road. Drove that same stretch loaded with some furniture a couple weeks ago and it was super smooth.

Y’a know, I thought it was just the truck, but after paying attention, I can feel it slightly in my RAV4 too. 300 pounds of sand over the rear axle didn’t change it at all. I was hoping the sway bar would help, but no bueno. Still VERY happy with that mod though.

We could probably whittle it down to: Wheelbase + Pavement Undulations + Suspension Tuning = Bed Bounce (Harmonic Oscillations).

the RSB is a must have- the factory bushings are plenty hard enough. Few folks really off road to where they don't need it

I finally installed my TRD sway bar this weekend. The install was very easy and the handling is much improved. The rear rides a bit stiffer but that is a good thing for me. Money well spent.

I got mine installed too, not any stiffer as far as the ride goes but a massive difference in handling. Not a slot car, but not a big fat pig anymore.

Ordered mine last Thursday - looking forward to the install and hopefully see the same improvements as most who have done it.
