Starting a new thread so it is hopefully easier for more people to stumble on. Original discussion here https://www.tundras.com/threads/will-this-grill-fit.80894/ @audiowize

I ordered this grille insert (there is no surround included) from Alibaba: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2010-2013-Truck-Front-Grille-Fit_1600128165806.html. There are at least three sellers selling the same insert, so I asked them all for quotes and Danyang City Danbei had the best price at $160 shipped to Atlanta. I was able to haggle and get them down to $125 shipped. YMMV.

They seemed to think that this insert would not fit US trucks, and sent me a picture of an '07-'09 truck. I can confirm that this insert fits '10-'13 grilles perfectly. The fit and finish are near OEM quality. For those with '07-'09 trucks, this insert will work with the addition of a surround and support brackets from a '10-'13 truck.

If you are anti Alibaba for some reason (never had an issue myself), you can also get it here https://www.truck-accessories-guy.c...oducts/toyota-tundra-2006-2013-trd-pro-grille. This guy is in Phoenix. Note: I cannot vouch for him, but at least he allegedly has this grille stateside. I did email back and forth with him and he is real bad at email. He also stopped responding before I could order, so buyer beware.

The Toyota emblem is included, and looks great. My biggest gripe (and it's a minor one) is the faux TSS area beneath the Toyota logo. I have no idea why this was included in the design as it serves no purpose that I can think of on a 2nd gen. It is glossy plastic with grille mesh look on it, and it really doesn't match the grille. I will probably try to make a nicer piece to fit there.

Install was very easy. Taking the stock grille insert out of the surround takes longer than reassembling the grille with the new insert. The one hiccup was the hood latch bracket needed smaller screws to fit the in this insert. The stock screws would have blown out the plastic. I had to make some small washers for the screws to fit the OEM hood latch bracket.

    IMG_3068.jpg

Apologies for the novel, but this seemed worth putting some time into as the only real alternative to the Sequoia TRD Pro grille. Especially if, like me, you're not really into the gap beneath the Sequoia grille. Overall I am very happy with it. The quality seems great, the look is near perfect in my opinion.

Happy to answer any questions or help people get set up with one of these for their trucks.

Can you get an upclose shot of the center area so we can get a better idea what it looks like?

Wouldnt be a bad place to actually install a front camera...

x2. its hard to tell what is going on there, and how easy/difficult it would be to make it not such an obvious difference compared to the rest of the grille.

Not sure why they chose to do that. It’s a glossy piece of plastic with grille pattern on it.

what is your plan for it? the seller on alibaba just got back to me and is likely going to quote me a better shipping price (right now its like 60 for the grille and 200 for shipping, lol)... and when he does, id like to decide if im going to go with it or not. without it in person its hard to say what could be done. the only thing i can think is to cut it out so its bigger, cover it with a mesh and put a light behind it... aka make it look like its supposed to be an opening. but i fear even that will look hoaky.

I’m working on making a 3D printed piece for that area to make it look like a continuation of the grille pattern. If it comes out good, I will likely make more of them to sell.

thats a good solution indeed. think youll make the 3d model file available? dont think id be willing to spend a bunch more to make a grill look the way it should to begin with, but ive got a friend with a 3d printer.

If you make a 3D printed bracket to fix the fake sensor, I would for sure buy one! I wanted to get the TRD Sequoia grill but I didn’t like the little stripes they have on the sides.

@Rube207, I really like the grill on your truck. I'm in the process of ordering one now and may hit you up for install tips when I get to that stage. I'm thinking I will just cover up the TSS (glossy piece) with some matte black vinyl. After seeing a 2021 TRD pro grill that has the same glossy piece that is most likely for the TSS system, it appears they tried to replicate the exact grill for the 2010-2013 insert. It would have been nice if they left it off but I like the looks of the grill so much I'm not going to let it stop me from getting one.

Here’s my first stab at a 3D printed replacement. It’s not perfect, but it’s a far cry better than the glossy piece. It’s solid plastic behind the glossy piece, but I may cut that out to make the printed piece blend with the grille better.

Going to go-ahead and order one of these grill inserts. I will rock it even with the glossy part but if you ever decide to sell a limited batch of these 3d printed inserts I will buy one.

Thanks. My truck came with chrome mirrors and door handles from the factory. These mirror caps are an OEM part from a Sequoia. They had the same 4T3 Pyrite paint for a few years and color matched caps were an option instead of the chrome.

Haha, maybe. At this point I have sequoia headlights and filler panels, and color matched door handles and mirrors caps that only came on a sequoia. Add to that the cap that doesn’t really ever come off the bed, and it basically is a sequoia.

I ordered the grill a couple weeks ago from the same seller as @Rube207 and was able to haggle on the price as well. I was surprised how quick it was shipped and delivered. It must have been in stock in a warehouse in the US since it shipped from CA and arrived within a week after I ordered it. I got it installed last night. Install was straight forward and easy (with a exception of a few broken clips I had to replace). I ended up covering the glossy TSS piece with matte black vinyl and don't think it looks too bad. I really like the updated looks of the grill insert paired with the morimoto XB headlights I already had.

so far I think @Mcdogg2001 and I are the only ones on here with this grille. I saw a stock photo at some point of this grille with a chrome surround and stock headlights, but can’t find it now.

Thanks for the reply. Did you black all the badges out down the side and on the tailgate? Have more pictures of your truck? Looks really good.
