I installed the Vantop H612T 12". It's a great unit. Very happy with it.

The 2021 Camaro comes with a mirror like that. I really liked it when I took one for a test drive.

Ran into this post the other day and had been thinking about how poorly my rearview mirror was going to work after my topper gets installed next week. So I picked one of these up on Amazon and it came in yesterday. Got their hardwire kit as well and that was nice and easy to connect in using the drivers side footwell fuse box. Turns out there are a few empty spots in the fuse panel that have constant & switched 12v power (well at least on my 2018 1794) so didn't have to splice any wires!

Won't be able to run the rear camera until the topper is on but damn this is a sweet little unit! I did have to replace my autodim/compass/homelink mirror since the VanTop wouldn't mount correctly and I broke off a tab trying. Had to fix that with some superglue and a longer screw but ended up pulling the factory mirror and getting a cheap normal mirror from Advanced Auto for like $12.

Yup exactly. Pull the plug on the back of the stock mirror and there is then a single torx screw that attached the mirror to the windshield. Undo that and the stock mirror will slide off. I replaced mine with a basic rearview from the autoparts store.

I wasn't going to until I mounted the topper next week but I ended up putting it temporarily on the ceiling inside the rear window. I mounted it using 2 of the short screws that it came with. Not sure how permanent a solution that would be so you might want to get a small bolt through the headliner to make it sturdier.

Here’s a few pics I took of the camera mounted. This is just temporary so I can use the mirror until my topper is installed next week. Once the topper is on I'm thinking this will go top center by the inside of the back glass or up top by the topper third brake light.

Did you ever install this camera after you got your topper on? I'm interested because I have a topper with tinted windows all the way around. This combined with my tinted cab windows makes it almost impossible to see anything in rear view mirror

    Thanks

Yup I installed it with the topper once that went on. I put it on the inside of the rear topper glass to protect it.

Don’t have any pics handy just mounted it to the top back inside by the dome light. It’s been working great so far and the view works well. I ran the wire from the mirror under the headliner to the passenger rear corner then out the factory hole in the floor then into the bad through one of the holes between the bed and cab.
