Ok... I looked all over. I have a 2014 1794. I typed my VIN in and didnt see any mention of it on Toyota's website.

My windshield cracked and I need to know if I need the heated windshield or not.

Check very bottom of windshield, on the outside. If there are wires connected to windshield in or around wipers area they are for heating that area. That s part of cold weather package.

Can confirm... I have this on mine, made it much more expensive, so be advised... If you remove the plastic trim by the windshield wipers with the hood open you will be able to see the plug.

lol... you can look it up at toyota.com, as the owner of your truck register the vin and look up equipment as well as your maintenance history at the stealership would be easier..

I did that already. Said that in the first post. Says I have blind spot monitoring. I didn’t know that was an option. So if it was not listed I for sure don’t have it?

holly molly, I went to public school and I guess reading is not my strong suit... LOL.... I don't think any early 2nd gen has blind spot monitoring... so I guess you will have to get your hands dirty...

shouldn't have to... if you can tug and push through the middle with a flashlight and a mirror you may be able to take a peak and see...

Check the build link in my signature.
Typically, the cold weather package also has a heater in the windshield wiper reservoir as well, and another on the line were it left the reservoir. At least my 2008 did.

Oh this is easy. Hang those truck balls off your hitch. Wait for cold weather. If they don't shrink then your truck definitely has a cold weather package.

So, I have a 2014 SR5 XP without the cold weather package.

I recently had my windshield replaced and the new one came with a heating element. I asked him about it and the installer told me it was an option and Toyota had put it in almost all the Tundra's and now that is what's installed especially when you get a new windshield. I asked him its they all work and he could not answer that. So my old he took out also had the heating element. He did plug the new one in and I'm not sure if the old was or not but hoping to try it out this winter if we ever get any ice or snow.

So if most of the the Tundra's come prewired and have the heating element and they don't work, who here knows how to get it to work. Do we only need a switch?

No, I think it’s tied in to the heated mirrors switch. What it is actually called is “heated wiper park”. It’s designed to thaw your wipers free from being frozen to your windshield after sitting for long periods of time in snow/ice weather so they can swipe free. About 9 out of 10 Tundras will have the heated wiper park from the factory. I actually think it turns on when vehicle is cranked and times out after a certain amount of time. Not sure though.

Heated Wiper de-icer comes on with the outside mirror defogger/de-ice switch or the rear window /mirror defogger/de-ice switch, which is on my Crewmax..and times out at 15 minutes..

I have a 2021 limited. I checked my specs on Toyota site using my vin and it’s didn’t mention cold weather package. So do I not have this feature?

Just checked the sales brochure for my 2020 and looks like Windshield wiper de-icer is standard across all trim levels.
