I just installed mine on my 2020 TRD Pro and noticed the same issue. Not quite as bad as yours. Honestly you really can’t notice it that much, but I would much rather have it straight.

Are the grab handles generation specific? Meaning, if I find a used one off a gen2 will it fit on a gen3. That includes the pillar fitment as well?

The part numbers are the same from 2007 to 2020. Just make sure you get the right color.

Yep that will happen when the bolts are overtightened. I had to back off a little on mine

Where is the "seller/supplier" list? I would love to find these parts for the mod. (new member, still finding my way around)

Sparks Parts sells a kit with everything needed. If you get it from just about anyone else, you will need to make a trip to Lowes.

Being in Canada, it was MUCH MUCH cheaper for me to order from Megazip and a 5min trip to Lowes, then order from Sparks.

If you order before the end of the month you will get the shipping for free supposedly, I believe if you put FREESHIP in the order, this particular site here has no sales tax and this was the price that was offered to me

You want part number 050BO though. 060 is the same one you have now. I made same mistake.

Yep, you need the pillar from an older model that had the handle.

I just ordered mine on Megazip.com. They are having a 10% sale right now. I paid $128.70 shipped for the pillar and handle. Sparks wanted over $170. I decided to save the $40.00 and spend that on a front end camera.

Is that with the hardware (i.e., the longer bolt)?

No. That is for the pillar and grab handle only. The bolt and "U" nut I can get at Ace hardware for $2.50.

I just ordered from the same company here also, using the 10% off coupon, it was also $128.70 shipped to me with least expensive shipping option

Not knocking anybody just wondering do you actually use it? I thought about getting but find I don't think I would use it. I don't touch anything when getting in

Check the build link in my signature.
Three months into owning my 2021, and I don’t miss it even after 12 years with a 2008 that had one. I’ve got a step on the side, and by the time I step on that I’m straight in or straight out without needing to grab anything.

I’ve dumped a crazy amount of mod money into this truck so far including splurging on color matched handles, but I’ll hold onto this $175 for something else. :notsure:

Yeah my last truck had it, but I really don't think I ever touched it. But I guess some do

Be careful with megazip, I purchased the handle and pillar early last week, then a week later they came back and said that shipping was more expensive then they thought and want me to send another $41.

For that price, I ordered it from the US and will have the parts in a couple of days. I have asked them to cancel my order and am still waiting for a response.

I remember seeing that others have had the same thing happen.

I don't use it all the time, and I often get in without grabbing anything (step on running board, step into truck while sitting down), but sometimes the truck is at an odd angle or something makes me grab and partially pull myself in. It used to be the steering wheel but I didn't want to keep putting that mechanical strain on the steering wheel or column. I now have and use the grab handle in those situations.

So psyched for this mod as lack of the handle kept me from buying this body version for several years. BUT: how does the airbag actually deploy then? The photo of bags deployed is helpful, but then I see what looks like the rolled bag within the pillar cover that we are replacing. Anyone know exactly where/how it comes out when deployed? Has anyone done this mod, then crashed and had the airbag deploy out of the A pillar with the mod? It sure doesn't look like it will interfere, but designs can change so want to make sure before I do this. TIA

The handle will not interfere with it. The handle on the driver's side used to come stock. Adding one is no different than the passenger side handle with its airbag.

Curtain airbags deploy between window and the handle, I believe they removed the handle during facelift to reduce any possibility of head injury during offset crash test to up the score, in a way the facelift was done on a budget.

On a pre-facelift, you can see the bag is between the window and the handle.
    https://youtu.be/VKPAvDvRTLc

On facelift model you can see the bag is now bigger
    https://youtu.be/svIiYlfnF3I

And from the inside, you can see if the A pillar was to crumble, they are worried the handle may cause injury to driver's head, passenger air bag is bigger so the chance of that is less.
    https://youtu.be/1jobGtNH7hY

I'm not a vehicle safety engineer, so take with what I say with grain of salt, I don't think it's that big of a deal, but I understand why they removed the handle.
