Does anyone know for sure whether it's possible (or practical) to add heated seat feature after Tundra leaves factory? I assume no, but I'm a newbie to such things and thought, after purchase of hard-to-find TRD Sport, that such a feature would be nice (despite living near Gulf).

Yes, you can get aftermarket heated seats that work and function like factory ones. Some models even have the switches fit the factory blank spots so it looks like factory too.

Wow, that was quick! Do you have a clue who one could trust with such a project (without shorting out electrical system or disfiguring ya! - I'm paranoid, btw, over auto electrical systems and the mischief they can cause).

You could DIY it in probably 3-4 hours taking your time. Wiring is nothing just tie them together and use a add a fuse. I have pics from my install if you decide to tackle it let me know and I’ll pm them to you

Amazing! Did you do it that way on purpose to save on that option or did it just dawn on you later, as with me, that you wanted that feature? Best way to find someone in, say, 250-mi area to handle such a task competently?

Oh, you did both. Probably not best route for me. I have skills in life; wrenches, wires and fixing things - not one of them!

I did it to save money on the first and get rid of the cloth seats. The next one had leather already but I was spoiled to the warmers so I added them.

You can go this route about it: go find an upholstery shop that will be able to take factory bottom and back seat covers off, add the heating pads, and reinstall the seat covers. Then go to any car stereo shop and have them wire everything up. OR ask if the upholstery shop can do the wiring too. It’s pretty straight forward on the wiring part. I think it was 3 wires per seat.

I've learned of a solid custom shop locally that is doing Westin nerf bars and a couple other low-risk things for me, but he does a lot of tint, leather, covers, etc. I bet either he does it, has it done or knows someone. I'll ask him in near future.
