Too Much Rake?

That rake looks perfect to me

So just adding the TRD shocks raised the truck about 2”?

 

Yes, front TRD Pro suspension will raise the front approx. 2" on a stock Tundra.

 

Does it raise the back also?

 

What is involved in doing that? Is it just changing the shocks?

 

There is some debate I've seen about the rear TRD Pro shocks raising the back. I didn't see any increase but I have seen others on this site that show theirs raised up to 0.75". On the safe side, I wouldn't expect it.

 

Where did you get your TRD shocks? Does it ride better than the stock shocks?

 

It's a bit involved on the front but simpler on the rear. If you're not too mechanically inclined and don't know your way around suspension work a little, I recommend taking it to a professional to have it done. I did mine myself as I didn't want to pay the "stealership" over $500 to do it for me.
If you have a stock Tundra, just adding TRD Pro will level the front with the rear.

 

I see today for the first time that Amazon is selling the TRD Pros. However, I suggest you do some research on this site as there are plenty of less expensive alternatives that will likely get you what you want. And yes, these ride much better than the stock suspension.

 

So the front is not just shocks but the coil over, correct?

 

You probably need to do some research on this site as I'm not the best to answer all your questions. It's all about how you plan to use your truck and how much you want to spend. You can go anywhere from cheap spacer kits just to raise the fronts and rear for a certain "look" (not recommended for any off-roading and won't help your ride much) to high end upper control arms, front coil-overs, extended rear shocks, and other suspension parts that can make your truck tackle most any terrain.

Yes the front trd shocks is entire coil over will lift 2 inches

 

I gotcha. I see that you can buy just the trd pro shocks and I think that is where I misunderstood it. I would like to do a 2” lift all the way around but it is pricey.

The rake is perfect for a truck.

As others have posted, just a little weight in the back can level it out.

I can’t stand when the tail is dragging, especially when due to a just moderate load.

Love the rake.

 

I just put a set on my truck and it raised my rear 1" using the "dime" gap measurement. I would assume it would lift it more with the "quarter" method. Easy to follow instructions. I don't tow anything, I just got a great deal on the set and decided to give them a shot.

$3200 (plus 7% sales tax for me) for TRD Pro Fox shocks!?!?!? OUCH!

 

How is the ride unloaded? And an 1" would be perfect because my cap has my truck sitting about an inch lower so that would be perfect

 

Thanks Lug Nut and others for your comments. I think I've decided to leave the rake alone for now.

 

The rake looks right ....3/4" spaces will help a lot from stone chips and mud flinging up on the truck. I had after market +18 wheels for a while but went back to factory with 3/4 spaces just barely stick past fender. I am running the pro suspension with a 1" block in the rear.

 

Many Thanks Tundra 121. I really like the looks of your truck and had seen it on several other threads. I have almost exactly the same set-up as you, except I'm running 1" shackles rather than the 1" block (but getting 1.5" of lift). I agree about the spacers too, but BORA 3/4" are hard to find and I'm waiting now until late February before I can get what I ordered off Amazon.

 

I'm unloaded 95% of the time. Ride is improved with less squat on take-off from the light. I'm partial to a slight forward rake myself, so sitting perfectly level was not my ideal stance. To each their own.
