Are all 2gen rear ends set up like this?

So I just got off the phone with Joey at SDHQ. Good guys. Looks like next week I'll be placing an order on some ICON leaf packs and Camburg hangers to dump my lift blocks. I'll also look into rebuilding my current shocks. The ICON leaf packs come with new U-Bolts also.

Joey did mention my Overloads looked abused, I admit I have put them to use which is why I'll be adding air bags to the suspension. This brings me to another issue, I'll need to find some fairly unused Overloads. Anyone have a pair that they want to get rid of?

Should make a nice early Fathers Day Present while doing the Tundra to Sedona 2017 trip, sounds like SDHQ will be at the event.

After reading all this. I don't want hear about bed bounce. Just sayin. By the way..if you want to use blocks... must be for mall crawling purposes.

 

This is where I would start. The shocks need to be replaced

 

Bed bounce is for all the hookers I pick up from the malls. I'd be lucky to have bed bounce with my 2" body lift that I installed. I used oak blocks and lagged them straight into the sheetmetal. Thats how I made room for the dual turbo set up under the hood. I used a 7.3 turbo to feed the 6.0 turbo, dual inline to a propane mister. I got this 4.6 pullin more HP than the 5.7 Turbocharger that Spvrtan has. The blocks are a deterrent for wanna be mall crawlers. They really get the axle wrap goin when I lay down that rubber across the speed bumps. This Tundra is hooked up! You dont even know!

Ya, this weekend I plan on pulling one off to see how it's doing. I have a local shop that rebuilds shocks. I also talked to SDHQ and they rebuild shocks also, pretty reasonable too. Also hoping this week to drop it off for another alignment to see if the rear is possibly sitting wrong on the perches. As ColoradoTJ mentioned the thrust angle. This could be running issues. I've had a rock crawler that had horrible anti squat issues and when I got off the gas the rear would get all angry at me.

 

Thinking of thrust angle have you had any u joint issues

No vibrations that I have felt but I'll take a look at the driveshaft. Might be a good idea to grab some u-joints for a trail repair.

 

Thanks for this thread OP. I am in the middle of installing some firestone bags and first had to remove my SumoSprings—which required loosening and retightening the Ubolts. I took a look behind the tire to ensure they were parallel and thought I messed it up somehow with the axle being at an angle. I guess I just never noticed before

I love how an advertising agent clearly wrote those words from toyota to justify their use of a crappier frame than other half ton trucks.

i love my tundra, but I’m sure their goofy rear leaf idea is the main reason it has the worst riding rear suspension of any half ton out there
