I’ve checked out this site a few times but finally decided to register. On my 2nd tundra and currently running a 2016 limited crewmax with 37k miles. Now that she’s paid off I want to do a few mods since I have no desire to trade it in. I have new Toyo AT3 tires on the way and plan on possibly some running board steps, new grill and headlights.. nothing to crazy. Anything else else should consider?

I forgot to mention she is bone stock with exception of taking off the trd decals.

I’ve considered that but not sure how tricky it is to replace door handles.. for some reason this truck came from factory with a stock black bumper so that’s already done.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Now that last question is loaded! The only easily visible mods I've done is the tonneau cover and the driver's side grab handle, but I've done about a dozen. They are all functional and help me to enjoy my truck even more. If you stick around here you WILL find more things you want to do!

Welcome from Western NC. Door handles and drivers side grab handle are usually a breeze to change. I've done both on mine with no issues. But stick around this crowd and you'll be changing more and more things. Believe me this site has cost me a lot of money, lol.

Welcome from the wet side of WA. I’m amazed you went 37k miles and 4 years and you’re still STOCK! :eek2:

A little level/lift (some Bilsteins seems to be the most recommended for that at a reasonable price). Steps or rock sliders. DECHROME (unless you like chrome). Debadge. LED headlights. Full overland setup. The sky (and your budget) are really the only limits.

As for swapping door handles - on the pre-2020’s, that’s an easy mod (and fairly cheap). I’m sure there’s a writeup on it in the DIY section.

I think I am one of the few that think the chrome handles and front bumper look good on my truck. But I do agree I think it would look sharp de badged with possibly black mirror caps and door handles

Those are some nice mod plans. You can fit 275/70-18 tires on your stock truck. They are 33s and fill out things much better than the stock 32 inch tires, but moving to a larger size on a Tundra generally means moving to E load tires, so be aware.

Lots of good running boards out there in prices from a few hundred to 1000 depending on what you like.

As far as any other mods, you should look at the TRD rear sway bar- it makes a big difference in drive-ability and handling. It is one of the best additions for the $, less than $225.

BTW- great truck! I also have a 2016, very similar to yours and love it.

Welcome. Another 16er. The most required changes for me was the drivers handle, new running boards, trd sway, led headlights/fogs and flasher module, center console safe, bedliner, bed cover, and maybe a new head unit...and tires. The swaybar made a difference.

Very nice, it did come from factory with the spray in Bedliner and I added a truxedo cover. I am diggin the rhino foot boards. Think I will be ordering the rb20s. I will look into sway bar for sure. Is it something a shop has to install?

Not at all, simple install that you can do in your driveway. I did a review of the TRD swaybar and in my tread posted a great install video I found, just look at my posts.
