I’ve been wanting to install some rear facing lights also known as Chase lights. When backing up the trailer to a campsite and it’s pitch dark it’s hard to see anything so I want to install these chase lights to help. I’m not sure if I should go with pods or a light bar which one do you guys think would look cleaner. I will be controlling these from a toggle switch located inside so they don’t come on all the time I am in reverse and blind people. does anyone have any pictures of their set upI’ve got a set of rigid pods but I’m still torn between pods one on each end of the back window or a light bar by the back window mounted in the middle size Would very.

Looking for the same thing. just did a search for rear facing lights and there's not a ton of stuff there. I don't want to cut holes in the bumper for flush mounting lights. I like the pic you have but I have a cover on my bed so that will not work. I saw the evil mfg 3rd brake light that looks good but it requires drilling on both sides of the 3rd brake light and I can't bring myself to do it.
    Any other ideas?

I’ve already finished a install. I’m working on making a video to upload on YouTube.

Do the lights rub the cab when off-roading and it flexes?

Not sure just put them on but that’s where I put them. I wasn’t going to mount them to the inside of the bed on a bracket but this location looked better. I mainly using this to back up in dark loacations.

If you're looking for a reverse light addition, have you seen this little guy? It's a mini light bar that bolts on with your existing license plate bolts and sits above or below your license plate. You wire it in with your OEM reverse light wiring so whenever you're in reverse, that light bar + your Reverse lights will power on!

I'm curious if anyone uses this on their Tundra and has any issues with the back up camera image being washed out.

With your camera being up on the tail gate handle, this isn't an issue at all! If it were closer to the lens, that would wash it out but the 1794 we had didn't have any issues with camera wash! The optics of the XTR really helps with this too. We even had the OEM reverse bulbs swapped out to LED as well.

Do these have an option to turn one or off with the reverse lights being on?

If you wired it to a switch, sure! How it sits though is to be activated with your reverse lights at all times. Really just depends how you wire it!

The problem with these lights is that they only illuminate from the plates down so if you’re running Chase lights you have the option to turn them to the sides up and down which is the reason I position them in this location with that being said that little light bar is handy and bright and very inconspicuous.

If you’re worried about rubbing issues you can mount the light in another location I will not be off routing and if it rubs a little I’m not too worried. I believe as QHD makes a bracket that you can mount light pods on but they’re over priced for what they are in my opinion I made my own for about five dollars but I ended up changing my mind
