Use fog beam pattern lights and maybe consider mounting by the rear mud flaps but facing inwards about 30-45 degrees? Crossed beam in the middle basically.

I wonder if the overlap in the center would make for decent lighting straight back.

    DAMN!
That was me. We were shooting the breeze about it on this thread? Maybe the daily.

Anyways, I was just going to tap into the reverse light after the frame harness for the brake light. There is a quick connect. Cheaper, and easier that way for me.

I've already got cubes, but had more important things to do lately.

Speaking of lighting, I think this is one of my absolute worst lighting mods. Nothing on this turned out how I wanted.

I have a plan for a better way.

Pulled the passenger roof drip trim. Need to get it cleaned up and adhesive removed. Any tips?

I carefully used a propane torch to heat up the old adhesive from my high mount stop light.

Once it was gooey I wiped it away with a rag. Didn't mess with the paint in any way that mattered. Slight yellowing, but you can't see it unless you're right up on it.

Your truck is a darker color than mine, and should be better. This is a last resort kinda method though.

If the channel is wide enough, maybe a 3m pinstriping eraser will work? Its basically a 1/2-5/8" wide circular rubber pad on a drill chuck.

    Otherwise chemicals or heat.

What bulbs are in your Reverse Assys? Nicely done on the Pods action. Might copy this if the HIR Bulb in my Reverse Assy doesn’t pan out.

I’m asking for your prayers to Dali Llama today as the sheep skin covers are installed. Most of my Positive Vibe Earth Credítz will be expended after all this.

That's a thing for sure. FWIW I used something like this in a different vehicle and it's bright.

Sticking with your light strips you could try hiding them into the trim above the doors.

Yeah. I had been looking at those as well. Pretty cool, but from pics seems not as bright/customizable as something like Stevies or hopefully this HIR Bulb. This HIR Bulb had better work or I’ll be going Postal around here!:annoyed::rofl:

The reverse bulbs are just some Phillips 921WLED's I added to my Rock Auto cart when I first got my Tundra last April. The pods are from HF. Very happy with how much I can "see" when backing up last night.

Browsing Big Gurl the other day I came across these interior strips with an on/off switch on them which would probably be pretty bright. @Tundra2

Just to be clear, yours are the ‘Flood’ Type?

Reason I ask is your beam in your picture seems more ‘Spot’ Type shaped. I’m also looking at these which are a lower profile type ‘Flood’.

Mentioned this before and also saw @speedtre mention it the other day: Been using Duck Duck Go as my internet search engine for about 5 years now. Its not intuitive and doesn’t ‘think’ for you which sharpens ones discernment as it should be. Highly suggest!

Correct, mine are the flood type. I saw those lower profile single row lights last time I was at HF, they look nice and are relatively new. In fact, I think I prefer that lower profile than the double row square pod. Maybe I'll throw the square pods on my van and get a pair of those low profile one's for the Tundra. It will only be a matter of time before HF puts them on sale.

I think the slim one's will look better.

@Tundra2 i seem to have made more mess than results. The $45 3M Adhesive Eraser Wheel was fairly worthless against this area. The channel prevents getting good contact on the area.

The only way I was able to make some progress was scoring the adhesive, heating the area with the heat gun and then using a small flat head to pry out a section. The adhesive seems to have pulled paint with it which makes me wonder if roof repair people replaced this stuff and felt the need to add adhesive? It doesn’t seem like the adhesive on the new roof drip is this intense.

You can see where I got too. Intense.

    Goo gone didn’t do junk.

I wonder if its panel bond or seam sealer then, that stuff would laugh at chemicals and the eraser.

I'd smooth it down with a wire wheel, seal/paint any exposed metal and see how the new trim fits. If it fits fine I'd just install it.

ok. so. first off. if i ever come across a factory blower. im grabbing it and making it fit the 05 engine. second. I got a free transfercase today.. needs an actuator. so i guess i'll get that all fixed up and keep it as a spare.. so no FJ case swap.. .yet

Anyone ever try a tonneau cover from a double cab bed on an access cab?

I found someones used a cap (@FirstGenVol iirc) while searching but not sure if a tonneau would also work.

6' 2" bed DC vs 6' 3" AC. Not sure on exact width between the rails. Anyone with a DC mind measuring?

Man.. I have an urge to find a 2nd gen reg cab taco, swap the 3rd gen bed and front end on, and shove a 4.7l into it.... that’d be one hell of a ride

oh trust me. if a wreaked or dirt cheap 4x4 reg cab pops up im jumping on it.. it would be a costly swap to do. but damnit it'd be badass seeing a unicorn.. because 3rd gen reg cab tacos dont exist. nor do any factory v8 tacos... it would be unique.

and yes. i would totally paint it army green

Hell I would probably do full TRD pro suspension and exterior mods including all the badging. Why? Because I can. I like shit that looks factory, but was never actually available.
