What have you done to your 2nd gen Tundra today?

looks great. love the look and functionality

 

Got the trd front sway bar and trd rear sway bar installed today. Wow what a difference. Drives like a car and can take faster turns without swinging out the backend.

One thing to note: I was looking at a Hellwig Sway bar for $450. I told RealTruck.com that was out of budget and they dropped it $100 right off the bat. I still opted for the TRD's though because it was a better deal.

 

Where did you buy the sway bar from?

Truck went in the shop this morning to receive her new back lit grille from DB Customs. Will post pictures when I put it up after work

 

Hauled some Winter time Den remodeling project barn wood over the weekend.

 

Found some thicker gauge sheet metal in the bin and decided to make another ditch light bracket prototype.

 

Bada$$ truck! And nice tires - they look great with the white letters showing.

 

Used it for a work station and tool transport. Had to cut the next hay bail open for the horses

 

Well truck was supposed to get the new grille installed. Shop wouldn’t do it cause they said it didn’t come with directions and looked like it required more modifications then they wanted to deal with. Told my wife we should take it to a body shop for install.

Guess I will do it myself when I find the time.

Got the BA mufflers 10 inch installed with resonator. Sounds great but was looking for more deep tones and volume. Called Keith up and took my order swap for the 8. Looking forward to getting it in about 3 weeks

Picked up this used TRD rear sway bar off FB marketplace for only 60 bucks. It's a little uglier than I'd hoped, but for that price I'm not upset about it! It didn't come with the hardware to attach the end links to the frame, so I had to do some running around to find 10.9 grade bolts of the proper length and thread. Then I had some schedule 40 pipe cut to length to make the spacers. I figure I'll spray paint the spacer to keep it from rusting too quick. Have any of y'all sanded/blasted your sway bars and recoated them?

I hear that. I was curious to hear the 6. The wife wanted to fly my ass out to dirty deeds to hear it in person. I wanted the deeper tones read the 6 was a tad higher pitch with rasp plus louder engine starts. New HOA would probably fine me so 8 it is.

Finally got the new jack installed.

 

Is that a soft topper, and how do you like it?

 

Replaced the rear shocks with factory take off yellow billies. The old were most definitely shot. Compression was almost no resistance and rebound was almost not existent. Rear feels much better already. Now to tackle the fronts!

 

Yes it it. So far no complaints. Super easy to remove if needed and very versatile. The only downside for some people would be that it's not 100% waterproof. Doesn't bother me tho.

 

Not much lately, except drive it around town.

It's due for an oil & filter change and I have a list of things I want to do to it, but none of them are a priority.

One question from my head unit install:
Crutchfield's directions say to tap into the reverse wire which is the blue wire on the 11-pin connector in the passenger kick panel. Problem is, there are two 11-pin connectors, both with blue wires. Anyone done this recently and know which one it is?

 

I think crutchfield diagram shows which 11-pin connector. I see if I can find it.

 

ok it says: passenger kick panel, white 11-pin plug, pin #3 blue.
iirc its the top one. check pin #3 on both and see if both are blue.
