No budget for suspension but he didn’t mention any budget for fiberglass. Maybe he can just run no fenders

Well, now that you mention it...... No off the shelf Bilstein is gonna get close to the plush ride of a King, Fox or ADS rear bypass shock coupled with a progressive leaf pack like Deavers.

Slightly above your budget and a little more than you need. Cry once.

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Why not just make them correctly in the first place? I believe they made them wrong initially and instead of fixing their mistake they came up with a half assed work around. None of the other UCA manufacturers suggest anything like cutting your tie rods.
Please don't take this as me attacking you or your statement. It's just me venting about what I think is greedy aftermarket BS.

He says no budget but then in his last sentence he mentions 3-5k which is logic and reasoning setting in hence my choices of products to fall into that price range. That’s why I mentioned the Bilstein Tundras.com special 6112’s and 5160s. I have the exact setup I mentioned to him and I use it specifically for hunting and it’s perfect. It’s all he will need unless he wants to add a Leitner Designs rack or something for more storage and to carry a boat or tent or whatever. But I agree, the higher level Fox and Icon kits are amazing compared to the Bilsteins for sure.

its also stated on the official instructions for the UCAs that you may have to cut the tie rod some.

That wasn't there 3 yrs ago when I bought 'em. And, I wonder how many people download the install instructions before their UCAs arrive? I mean, they're UCAs. How much instruction is really required? More than likely 90% of people find out about the tie rods needing to be cut after they mistakenly purchase Icon UCAs. I've run Camburg, Icon, MCM and Total Chaos (in that order) UCAs on my current truck, never felt I needed to read directions to install any of 'em. The only ones that didn't work......... yep, Icon.

Common Icon thing. They always secretly change instructions to cover their own asses. Go on TW and the Icon complaints are endless. I remember one was a reservoir hose fitting bumping into the upper shock mount. Their solution wasn’t to change the design, but to change the instructions to “notch the mount”. Customers call in telling them to fix the shock and they claim user error. The biggest one was the coilover top hats failing and breaking. They redesigned the top hat and charged people $200 for the new one.

That's just insane. I've seen too many with accelerated wear or needing rebuilds too soon as well. Personally not a fan of them at all. If you're going to spend that money, go Fox or King.

I think I'm gonna contact Headstrong today and see if they have Kings in stock. But I'm gonna cheap it out and try to keep stock UCA's first

Yup, lots of recorded failures with icons.

Dont forget the rear shock top hat threads shearing.

I would expect Bilstein 4600's to be absolute shit. They cost about $40. The Bilstein 6112 is $800 for comparison, and each rear 5160 shock is about $180. So no comparison here. I argue that the 6112/5160 is just as good as your Fox TRD pro set up for daily driving, and the occasional offroading.

Icon is such trash. I had them on my last tundra and the rear shock wouldn't stop leaking. On top of that, my current delta joint UCA's, as others have mentioned have made it impossible to get a good alignment. I recall my shop saying, "man we really went crazy negative on this."

It's funny everyone thinks the best suspension is the one on their trucks. Until they leak. Then it's all of a sudden the worst one out there. Now that I have Kings I think I'll start bashing Icon too.

I rode in your truck when you had Icon 3.0s and I'll admit that it rode really nice and your RXT leafs seemed great too. That confession was really hard for me.:p

My truck with the Icons was the fastest MT truck out there. But that could've been because it's a Double Cab. Everyone knows Double Cabs are atleast twice as fast as CrewMaxes.

Wouldn't get King's unless you live in Socal/Arizona/Vegas. I've seen some Sierra winters decimate King's.

Ive had both, the 6112s and the OE Fox Pro setup. I was comparing it against my current 4600s, but the 6112s are actually a little stiffer than the 4600s. Whereas the Foxes were softer. 6112s do not ride nearly as comfortably as the Pro Fox does. 6112s do firm up a bit of the lean, where the Foxes are prone to sway, but only under aggressive turning. I really was trying to convince myself to go with 6112s again actually, but having had the Pro setup just keeps me from pulling the trigger.

I did Icon delta joint UCA's, haven't had any of the alignment issues discussed here either.

I didn't take before and after measurements, but I'd say I got about 2.5" front, and 3-3.5" rear. The rake your stock truck has is preserved with the BP-51 kit.

Adjustable compression and rebound is a nice touch that I appreciate...and again can I mention the coolness factor?
