Hello all, new to the Forum.
Purchase my first Tundra back in September a 2021 TRD off road Crewmax in Army Green.
    Absolutely love the truck!
Well everything but the Chrome grill and front bumper ends.
I found a Product that Dupli-color makes called Shadow chrome. With a lot of prep work I ended up spraying the hood bulge, the grille surround and the bumper ends. Here are the results. I hate it and love it. I did three lite coats of the shadow chrome and three coats of clear. In bright light I love it because it looks like black crome, but in low light it picks up the green paint color and looks blotchy.
Time to order a color matched sport grill and bulge
Does anyone have pictures of the army green sport honeycomb grille?20201216_160252.jpg 20201214_173810.jpg

    Thanks guys.
I'll be waiting till this spring to change everything out as mentioned.
I think the shadow chrome would be great for smaller badges and mirror covers and such. For big pieces like the bulge/ grille it's almost impossible to keep it even while spraying, because you have to over lap and it gets light dark spots. Just an FYI.

Nice work. Just a thought... have you thought about painting the bumpers and grill surround matte black to match your mirrors? The AG factory painted grill surround would look good too. But, it is not cheap. I think the Sport model comes in AG with the painted surround. That should give you an idea what it looks like with the honeycomb grill.

That looks in pictures like it turned out great. I bought the same Shadow kit just over a year ago to try on my MGM. I sampled it, but never had the guts to commit:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/has-anyone-tried-to-darken-or-smoke-their-chrome.52649/

Looks like you nutted up and did it. Also sounds like you may not be 100% on the result. Anything you can share would be hugely beneficial; still considering doing this to wink out the chrome on my MGM.

    thanks in advance.

That looks really good. Easily passes the 30/30 and 10/10 rules.

That does very much! Sharp looking Truck. I still like the Honeycomb sport grill. I Think that's what I'm going to end up doing this spring!

Here are a few more picture. It's hard to capture in pictures but off the truck it looks black, on the truck it picks up the AG paint and looks a blotchy green. But it all depends on the light. It bright sun it looks great . Haven't had many sunny days lately.

The hood bulge and grille surround I used the recommended prep per the instructions but from recommendations from two professional painters, I used Dupli-color adhesion promoter. I then sprayed three as even as I could coats of the shadow chrome per the instructions on the can. Then 6 hours later I applied three coats of the clear per the instructions on the can .
I did the same to the bumper ends except I didn't use the adhesion promoter.
FYI. Its already chipping off on the insides of the wheel wells from stone chips.
On your MGM color truck I think it would look great because if it reflect the color of the truck it should just add to the shadow.?
    Hope this helps
