Thanks!, I'll go take some measurements. And to answer the previous question - yes, the handle is in this position when the cover is clamped securely to the bedrail.

 

@abcinv Found a pic on my phone, hope it helps:

 

Drilled some holes to install a hopkins easylift torsion bar.



I drilled the bedside hole 5/16" lower than the recommended 3 3/4" mark, this kept the bar from rubbing against the hinge.



Used some rustoleum gunmetal spray paint I had laying around, sprayed onto the box and used a q-tip to apply to the freshly drilled holes.



Holds the weight of the tailgate and plastic bedliner cover by itself.



It actually holds it so well that it doesn't fully drop flat. You can tell by the cables, it still has an inch or so to drop.

Maybe if I had drilled the tailgate hole about 1/2" further down it may not have done this. I'll probably have to weaken it with some heat or remove it and twist it some.




I can close the tailgate with one finger now, thats pretty nice.

My handle and your rear clamp seem to be in about the same position (see pic 1). I can adjust the handle so I can tuck it in closer to the bed (see pic 2). So the only question; is there enough room behind your box for the handle to tuck. The handle extends down 6" from the bottom of the bedrail so it's too long to leave straight down, or so seems by looking at your pic.

 

I wouldn't. I'd just let the metal in the bed/tailgate fatigue naturally a bit and let the spring 'settle'. There's a lot of leverage on that spring with the gate all the way down/open.

 

I'm probably going to replace both front Drl and blinker housings first since they are held tight with zip ties and get full of moisture after a wash or rain....(whatever that is).
I figure this will buy me some time and if they cloud up again, i will polish them again cuz it was ez-pz and i got more discs and polish left. I'm getting my 13 bucks worth out of this shit.

The second polish isn’t as pretty iirc when I did mine. Its like a one and done. Still have the little 3M buffer pad for my drill!

Haha after I got the mail and was walking by my truck after work, I looked at my ball hitch and thought to myself “ do I need grease?”

 

It'll be years probably before the spring looses that much tension if I leave it alone. Since I don't leave the tailgate down and I'm not using the truck daily.

Also there's nothing in the tailgate/bed that will fatigue.

Drove it a bunch and noticed I now get a 3x Maint Reqd light when turning it on. So I ordered a Veepak OBDII dongle.

The reminder is usually set for every 5k FYI, so you don’t HAVE to change the oil depending on your driving habits

 

For anyone curious, it's the bigger one mounted to the side of the fender. Just got it disconnected.

 

I bought this stuff and respray every 6 months. It's been a year so far since I did the 3m kit and the headlights are still clear.

I'm having this weird issue in my sequoia where my fan feels like it's blowing cold air if my fan is on 1, if I turn it up higher then it's fine. I'm wondering if maybe my blend door is partially stuck. Any other ideas.

Also, where is the blend door, I looked online at some parts diagrams, but couldn't see it.
