    Yeah they should be specific.

I did the delete today and the sound is really nice. My helmholtz resonator is still doing a great job and I have no drone. I have a few leaks from the pipes I clamped in, but I'll get those sorted soon.

I replaced that header too. It took me about 3 hours so I'm getting the muscle memory down now. I hope I don't have to do it again though.

Noticed while warming my truck up this morning and it was freezing cold out that my exhaust smells ‘gassy’

Yeah what Empty said, but once is warms up it should not smell ‘gasy’ like mine did for years before new /proper o2’s. I will say on start ups mine smells less gasy and more ‘chemically’ now. Once warm, its St. Bart Tropical Steam Forest.

Was out in the parking lot getting lunch from the truck, and opened the passenger side door. Terrible squeal from the door check.

Got down on one knee, felt around, and swabbed up some Engine oil off my transmission pan. Shmeared that all over the door check using two fangers.

Opened, and closed the door. No more squeal.

Today's mission. Gomer had removed some of the finish on my calipers when he clamped them down to mill the ears.

Sanded the rust off and sprayed them with high heat caliper paint.

I like the TRIPPLE stripe on the grill, it goes good with the white, I don’t know if it would look good on phantom gray.

    Tell me about it lmao

Yeah I have a before clip of my exhaust too. I'll get an after video once I get the little leaks sorted. I will have to see if I can figure out how to upload videos here.

Got it. Thanks guys. It goes away after being warm and it has new 02 sensors a year or two back as well. Wasn't sure if I was having a fuel injector issue or not.
    @empty_lord
Heading out to my garage to the passenger CV axle since the diff seal is leaking. I think I may be confused as I bought two different seals.
90311-47027 I think this is for a manual trans 4x4
90311-47013 I think this one is for the auto trans 4x4 correct?
So I shouldn't have bought one of each but instead bought 2- 47013 right?
    Obviously I have an auto

You'll need to upload to YouBoob. The forum doesn't like a straight up .mp4 upload to here.

Be careful. There is a certain depth you have to drive the new seal in. You'll know which side I'm talking about. The other side is easy.

Edit- found some pics from May. It's the passenger side that can be driven too far. Here is the driver side after I removed the seal and started removing the needle bearing.

I know, I regret it. When I ordered they said they were painted but whatever coating they had didn't last at all. They were silver for about a week.

Pops caught wind of an 01 camper shell for free.99 that one of his old coworkers has.

Going to look at it tomorrow. He swears its a color match, but it looks like thunder grey metallic to me.

    received_405870963821138.jpg
    received_935529933651287.jpg

If the dimensions are the same as my color matched shell I could swap over all my hardware, and glass.

Worst case scenario I pay for a color match paint job from a local shop that dies excellent work.

Yes. Rear glass/harware is gone, and a replacement piece with no guarantee that it will fit is $1,200.

Astro camper shells were absorbed by somebody else. Plus I don't have the pics, or the measurements for the glass anymore.

Circled back to the Rear Shaft Slip Yoke/Zerk and noticed the same amount of movement as always after doing the zerk remove and jump the pressure out method for the first time. I’ll dispel that method as not applicable in my case. It may work for others with pressure problems.

Went ahead and knocked some pitting off the shaft today with some emory cloth and brushed some left over grease from my brothers toothbrush. Yoke is smoov now and the grease will take a few days to settle in.

Yes, the two seals appear to be different sizes so the 47013 fit the passenger side. I drove it in as much as I dared which was just a pinch outside of the old one so hopefully it's good. I did have an issue with CV axles though. Was given an old stock that a friend had that he never used new one (part #A) and then took that part number to Napa (part #B) and had them order me a new one but they were different...here were my concerns if anyone cares to poke at them:
    1. the diff side of axle B had a smaller spline section than my old axle and axle A that my friend gave me
    2. Axle b had a castle nut instead of an axle nut but not sure this mattered?
    3. The diff 'cups' on the two new axles were different, axle A was bigger but maybe it doesn't matter?
Pics show from top to bottom, axle B, axle A, and my old one.
    IMG_7787.jpg
Here are the apparent differences in the axles that had me concerned. Cups, splines, castle nut on one.
    IMG_7784.jpg IMG_7785.jpg IMG_7786.jpg

Ok so for whatever reason I didn't have a grease cap so I bought two because I don't think the driver side has one either. Don't know how big a deal it is but is supposed to be there.
    IMG_7781.jpg

On the backside of the wheel hub there looks to be a rubber seal and mine looked pretty crappy. Should I replace and does anyone know the part number I'm looking for?
    IMG_7782.jpg

Old axle that looks to be OEM since it has 43430-0c010 on it.
    IMG_7788.jpg
Looks like both front axles are missing clamps on the diff side of the axles and have leaked grease.
    IMG_7790.jpg
The passenger that I pulled today had a little play in the wheel side of the axle so I figured just to replace and fix this oem one for later use or to buy a high angle boot for it from CVJ.
Now I need to get a hold of a better metal cup to drive the seal into the diff and also get the rental on here for the needle bearing puller as I have the ECGS bushing collecting dust on my shelf in the garage.

Whatever you do, don’t try to paint it yourself in your garage in the middle of suburbia. You’ll quickly find out how un-equipped you are and why paint guys charge so much.
